Making waves on the national beach stage! 🌊🇨🇦

🏆 NATIONAL CHAMPS // Julia McDougall and Natalia Casas are at the top of the podium again! The dynamic duo went undefeated at Volleyball Canada’s 17U Beach Volleyball Championships in Toronto. This isn’t just their second natty (they also won 🥇in 2024/15U), it also qualifies them to compete for Canada at the Youth Olympics in Senegal this fall. Let’s go! 🍁

🥉 14U BRONZE // The younger Casas/McDougall pair are following in their sisters’ sandy footsteps! Sofia Casas and Emma McDougall earned a bronze medal in the 14U championship, just like Nat and Julia did back in 2023. Can’t wait to see where this partnership goes!

We are so proud! 💙❄️

After 2️⃣1️⃣ years of setting the standard, our club founder and director is retiring.

Without Al Scott, there would be no Bedford Blizzard Volleyball Club. Following a legendary career at Dalhousie University, Al founded the Blizzard in 2006 to raise the bar for club volleyball in our province, and provide a close-to-home pathway to play for his daughter Samantha.

After coaching in the club for 15 years, more recently Al shifted his full effort and relentless passion to growing and strengthening the organization, supporting the development of its coaches and seeking new ways to level up the Blizz experience for athletes.

Ahead of the 2027 season, Al has passed the torch to a new leader (more on that later) and meticulously paved the way for 21 more years of moving this incredible sport forward in Nova Scotia.

Sometimes a thank you isn’t quite enough. See you in the stands, Al! ❄️

Weekend two in Calgary at nationals was an unforgettable one, filled with massive wins, lessons learned and Blizzies supporting Blizzies. ❄️❤️

🥈 Blizz history was made as our squad finished 10th overall in 🇨🇦—2nd in tier 2, 10/190. This is the club’s highest-ever finish, we are SO proud.

5️⃣ Our beloved also made their mark, playing some great ball and having a blast doing it. They finished 5th in tier 7 (53/190).

5️⃣ A short roster didn’t stop our from battling with the best, they finished 5th in tier 6 (45/101).

5️⃣ And finally, our were kind, but not nice, as they fought their way through the 18U boys bracket. The dawgs finished 5th in tier 8 (61/117).

Its our final nationals week, with 15U and 16U taking the court! 🥊🏐
