More weight does not automatically mean more resistance.
The muscle only experiences resistance relative to its ability to produce force in a given position.
That’s why adding weight can sometimes make an exercise less effective, not more effective.
The goal is not to lift the most weight.
The goal is to challenge the muscle effectively.
