Congrats to the False Creek athletes for paddling ~1500+ kms collectively today in an effort to raise money for a new boat shed! As you can see from the pics, our shed is no longer safe for the kids and we need to vacate the space immediately. We are still far away from our goal of $60-100k and it's not too late to help! A rainbow kind of night 🌈

While our high performance athletes have been training and racing for nationals and internationally, our U14 and novice paddlers have been working hard too! Thanks to them, they've locked down another Pacific Cup 🏆 win for the club 👏! So proud of all athletes who raced. Thank you to all the volunteers, organizers, coaches and parents who made this all possible this year. On to 2022...!

Huge congrats to .b, Veronica So 🏅, and on representing Team 🇨🇦 and so well at this past week's Olympic Hopes and U23 World Championships! Outstanding performances in the A finals by all! Many performances to be proud of and milestones achieved this year. 👏 💪This is only the beginning... 😊

We are excited to share that False Creek has been selected by to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund. The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids. This grant will enable youth of all abilities to try out paddling this summer!

We are so saddened to learn of the passing of Jackie Webber. Please read the status update given by the False Creek Racing Canoe Club, and please, if you have any memories of Jackie, feel free to share them here.

With deep sadness, the False Creek Racing Canoe Club acknowledges the passing of Jackie Webber, our dedicated Club Development Coordinator. We are all devastated by her loss.

Jackie has been at the core of the FCRCC's programming for years, and has been a steadfast part of the paddling community in Vancouver for decades. Her loss will be sorely and deeply felt.

The FCRCC Executive is determining ways members, friends, and community members can contribute to support and remember Jackie's memory, with details to be shared as appropriate. We understand that Chilli, Jackie's beloved dog, is currently safe with a friend.

Please join all FCRCC members in a moment to remember Jackie's incredible spirit.

Joint Statement Regarding COVID-19 Response
Dragon Zone Paddling Club and False Creek Racing Canoe Club

In the spirit of unity, Dragon Zone Paddling Club and False Creek Racing Canoe Club are announcing the following measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately:

Dragon Zone Paddling Club
Practices, boat use, and dock access suspended immediately. Scheduled reopening date on Tuesday, March 31. Please visit www.dragonzone.ca/alerts for further information.
Team orientations and coach boat orientations postponed until club reopening.

Practices and club boat use suspended immediately. Scheduled reopening date on Tuesday March 31.
March Madness OC6 Regatta postponed to future date to be determined. Please visit www.fcrcc.com for further information.

At this point, we are not aware of any members of the paddling community who have tested positive for the virus. At this point, other events are not affected.
