For the past couple of years, I’ve been attending Shanda’s online webinars and summits. But today marks a shift. This is the first time I am officially putting in the work she asked of us and stepping completely out of my comfort zone.
I can’t express enough gratitude for her unique approach to business coaching—even though she doesn’t call it that.

To see what true coaching looks like when it comes from a place of genuinely working from the heart is incredibly inspiring. This isn’t about bragging, boasting, or belittling other up-and-coming coaches in the field.

It’s about showing the true north of coaching from the soul. Thank you, Shanda, for pushing us.

In the video I just recorded, I broke down the core philosophy behind my own work at FighterFitX and the Day One Den. The reality is that most people don’t have a weight loss problem; they have a system glitch and a power drain.

When your body spends all its daily energy fighting structural misalignments and restricted movement patterns, it forces you into a survival state that stalls your metabolism and drains your focus.

True high performance is about reclaiming physical sovereignty and control over your posture.

Over the last two decades, my focus has been on deleting those technical movement glitches so professionals can naturally drop weight and double their energy output without ever touching a generic cardio machine.

Before diving into high-impact training like power snatches or marathon prep, we have to look at the data.

By using 3D movement and video analysis, we uncover the hidden mechanical leaks, like hip or ankle misalignments, to strengthen the core musculature and build a highly resilient, high-output engine.

True fitness solutions must be backed by real sports science standards, like NASM and ACSM, to help people reclaim their power on the court, in the boardroom, and in their family circles.

Stepping up and sharing this is exactly what it means to build from the heart. Let’s keep pushing the baseline.

thank you

Sometimes it’s not all fun and games with ab training.

The results you want demand a completely new identity. Your heart and soul stay the same, but your habits, thoughts, awareness, and boundaries have to evolve. On the other side is a life of greater peace, confidence, strength, and success - but you’ll never experience it if you stay locked in the same body, mind, and spirit.

That transformation happens in the daily ex*****on - whether you’re hitting your gym sessions at home or locking in at a commercial facility. It requires taking the coaching and advice inside the den and actually putting it into play. It means showing up in the open online gym, uploading your exercises for direct video analysis, and connecting with a community operating at the same standard.

See you inside the den.

🛡️ MUSCLES ARE THE GUARDIANS OF OUR YOUTH

“Muscles are the guardians of our youth. We need our muscles for strength, movement, the burning of calories, energy, and the maintenance of our body’s shape. When muscles are locked in a state of permanent tension due to atrophy, poor posture, over building, or poor alignment, we refer to that as a state of permanent stress or distress! Permanent tension reflects unbalanced muscles, which are the leading cause of chronic pain, damaged joints and disease.” — Miranda Esmonde-White

When your body is locked in a state of chronic physical tension, your entire operating system suffers. True structural integrity isn’t just about standard fitness aesthetics; it is about balance, biomechanics, and alignment.

At FIGHTERFITX, we do things differently. We build our clients from the inside out.

We look at the data, the movement patterns, and the mechanics to ensure you can age gracefully and permanently reclaim your strength.

Optimizing your body is a strategic investment in your life. When you restore your physical capacity, you earn the energy required to be the absolute best version of yourself: the visionary industry leader, the resilient family and friend role model, and the dedicated community partner you need to be.

Stop settling for permanent physical stress. Reclaim your movement.

I earned the patch. Part two of the ankle mobility post with Karin.

⚙️ The Targets & Core Corrections

To clean up her form, maximize her gym gains, and prep for the mountain, we are attacking specific muscle groups:

The Needs: Build endurance in the gluteus medius (hip stabilizers) and improve ankle dorsiflexion so her body stops “cheating” the movement by collapsing the arches.

The Homework: Focused unilateral work, loaded straight/bent-knee calf raises to bulletproof the Achilles, and single-leg stability drills to build a rock-solid foundation.

⚡ The Dynamic Warm-Up & Real-Time Pivot

I designed a multi-planar warm-up to wake up her nervous system before we laced up, including lateral/front leg swings, single-leg gate openers, partner high knees, and side lunges.
During the warm-up, we threw in a bench step-up to opposite hip extension. When she mentioned her knee felt a little “off” at the start, we pivoted instantly into a front-knee loaded deep lunge with both feet flat.

Why this adjustment works:

Instead of letting her knee take a bad sheer force from tight ankles, I had her oscillate her knee side-to-side under control while deep in that loaded dorsiflexion position. This actively mobilized the ankle capsule and forced her talocrural joint to find room to move. It completely cleared the mechanical blockage, taking the pressure off her knee and preparing her joints for the unpredictable, uneven steps of the trail.

Data-driven results, real-time adjustments, and zero guesswork. Next stop: The Mountain! 🚀

🔥 Biomechanics in Action: From Flat 5Ks to Mountain Verticals 🏔️

Had an incredible session today tracking data for a past client turned running partner! We clocked a solid 5.04 km loop around False Creek in 39:21 - a massive 40-minute continuous dynamic load, but she was definitely feeling the fatigue by the end! Verbatim from her: “I’m tired!” 😂

We pulled up a video clip to closely analyze her gait from the front and back, and found some critical structural patterns that most trainers completely miss:

The Cushion Compensation: She’s wearing highly cushioned shoes (Hokas) with a thick stack height. While great for impact absorption, that thick foam reduces natural ground-feel (proprioception), forcing her ankle stabilizing muscles to work twice as hard to maintain lateral control.

Heavy Heel-Striking: She is utilizing a pronounced heel-to-toe strike pattern, landing with her foot extended far out in front of her center of mass. This creates a massive braking force that travels straight up the skeletal system.

Ankle Overpronation & Knee Valgus: Upon that heel strike, her ankle visibly rolls inward (overpronates) - especially on the left side. Because the ankle collapses, the kinetic chain follows, causing a minor inward collapse of the knee (knee valgus) due to a lack of eccentric control at the hip.

⚠️ Why Leaving This Unnoticed Wrecks Your Progress
If you don’t address these underlying mechanics, it’s a ticking time bomb for both her city street runs and her gains in the gym:

On the Asphalt: Repetitive, uncorrected overpronation and heel-striking under fatiguing 40-minute loads lead straight to shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and patellofemoral knee pain.

In the Gym: If her brain defaults to letting the ankles collapse and knees cave under fatigue, that bad pattern transfers directly to her heavy squats, lunges, and deadlifts. It limits her power output, leaks force, and stops her from building maximum strength in her glutes and legs because the joint alignment is compromised.

📈 THE POWER OF 1% BETTER EVERY DAY
Progress is never a straight line.

There will be days when you trip up. Days when you temporarily fall back into old habits, fall into unhealthy actions, or let limiting beliefs cloud your judgment.

When that happens, you don’t throw away the entire mission. You dust yourself off, pull your shoulders back, and get right back up. That is all we can do.

True transformation isn’t about achieving flawless perfection overnight. It is about committing to being just 1% better than you were yesterday. Small, compounding actions over time are what rewrite your entire trajectory.

If you are fighting for that next level and need that extra support to cheer you on when no one else does, or if you simply value exceptional, high-performance service, then it’s time to change your environment.

Stop doing it alone. Come and join a community that holds the standard.

To get elite results, you need elite data.

Whether we are training in person or coaching you online, our standards don’t drop. We use 3D biomechanic video analysis to look under the hood of your movement patterns - identifying exactly where your body is thriving and where it’s compensating.

Take a look at this recent breakdown with Marleena:

The Mobility Test: We measured her active shoulder external rotation. Her right side hits a functional 60° to 65°, but her left side hits a hard stop at 35° to 40°

The Compensation: Because that left side feels “stuck,” her body naturally tries to cheat the movement by dumping her shoulder blade forward to fight for extra range.

The Overhead Reach: When tracking overhead flexion, she clocks in at 155° to 160° but has to drop her head forward at the top to force that last bit of depth.

Stop Guessing. Start Fixin’.

You don’t need to waste time in the gym guessing why your shoulder clicks or your posture feels off.

Online coaching with us is seamless:

1 Film yourself performing an exercise.
2 Hit send.
3 We handle the rest.

Inside the DAY ONE DEN, we dissect your mechanics down to the exact degree. We pinpoint the structural restrictions, eliminate the guesswork, and deliver the precise movement corrections you need to save time, effort, and future potential pain.

Stop training around those pesky injuries.

Let’s fix them.

🎯 BUZZWORDS VS. TRUE VALUES: WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY STAND FOR?

What you stand for in life will always be reflected in the actions you choose every day.

Lately, the market is flooded with massive declarations of industry buzzwords and whatever phrases happen to be optimized for SEO. But words are cheap. True alignment happens when you understand the actual, underlying values that a company, organization, team, or gym holds through their ex*****on.

It always sounds great on paper, but you have to look past the marketing clichés:

“Community-Focused” — Often true only if you belong to the unstated inner clique.

“Boutique” — Frequently translates to exclusivity based on running in similar social circles.

“Inclusivity” — Usually comes with a hidden caveat that you must match an unstated group dynamic.

“Culture” — A massive underlying concept that is far too often used as a shield rather than a standard.

When you are choosing an environment, a workplace, a gym, or an educational institution, you need to have your “spidey senses” on full alert. Look past the polished copy and evaluate the real operational standards.

Inside The Day One Den, we don’t hide behind industry buzzwords or superficial labels. We build our ecosystem on raw, transparent, and non-negotiable pillars: growth, acceptance, and absolute personal accountability.

Don’t buy into the noise. Look at the actions, protect your environment, and stay aligned with your true goals.

See you inside the Den.
