Why Our Approach Works Better.

These are the most common mistakes I see with players.

1: racket tip should point at the ball (tossing arm and racket parallel)

2: reach tossing arm back to create a curve along the front of the body

3: line of the shoulders and hips should be tilting back

Tennis technique is all about geometry.

All elite players share the same geometric patterns — that’s what guides our technical training.

Players often blame their misses on "bad timing", but if you're slow getting to the ball then the ball plays you, instead of you playing the ball.

Use the legs and core to push force into the ground and transfer it up through the body into the racket, applying Newton’s Third Law—greater force into the ground creates greater power potential.

Mistake Series 1`

Opening the palm up (waiter’s tray) limits the racket drop and ability to pronate on the serve.

This makes it impossible to have a powerful serve and can cause shoulder injuries.

The ‘power loop’ is where the racket makes a circle so the racket can travel a greater distance and build up speed. The racket moves from right to left, drops behind the head, then continues left to right before going up to the ball.

In order to execute the 'power loop' the palm must stay facing down as you bring the racket up, then the palm turns towards the back of the head as the racket drops.

The shoulder and arm MUST be loose so the racket lags behind allowing the muscles to be stretched, then they recoil, releasing elastic energy.

Notice the depth of the racket drop (to the butt) and how the leg drive happens simultaneously to the racket drop.

Mistakes Series
opening the fridge door

“Take your racket back” is one of the worst coaching queues out there because it causes the arms to separate, limiting upper body coil.
