The very first cycle polo worldcup that India had won in 1996 under T Kumar's captaincy was played in accordance with the international set of rules. Canada had challenged the Indians thereafter in the second worldcup in 1999 , that if India won the worldcup, then they shall play all the succeeding ones in accordance with the Indian cycle polo rules. T Kumar TK and his team accepted the challenge and not just won the worldcup, but the next 3 worldcups in a row and made history.
