Do you ever wonder what generational curses have you broken?

What have you earned, experienced, enjoyed that your great grandmother couldn’t have dreamed of?

Lifting heavy at the gym.
Eating with intention.
Wearing whatever I want.
Speaking without the fear of being punished.
Traveling alone.
Living in my own house without a husband.

As a woman and an Arab, these are the rights and freedoms that I have fought for. Healing my bloodline from slavery, gender crimes, and violence against women and girls. I do this for me, but in doing so, I think of you, sister, mother, grandmother. We won.

“If you lift weights you’re gona look like a man”
Said the woman who has never done any strength training 😆

“If you’re gona wear that, ppl are gona judge you” said the man who’s too afraid of other’s judgment that he doesn’t even know himself.

“You’re building a business
Yeh that’s not gona last”

Said the girl who secretly wishes she had the balls to break out of her 9 to 5

Let them talk, your relatives , your coworkers, your friends. They don’t know you like you know yourself. They can’t see your goals. They lack the vision you have and they’re never going to get where you want to go. You don’t the seek approval of others, you seek your own purpose. Go find it.

Motivation is a mood not the way to live your life.

You don’t go to work because you’re motivated everyday.

So why show up for others n not yourself!
You don’t need motivation to change your habits
You need a standard.

Show up. Do the work. Repeat.

If you’re looking to do a heavy set. Here are some tips that will help you make it through the hard work.
Start the exercise by doing an extra set with no little to no weights added, this will get your muscles fired up n warm them up for the next heavy set.
Second, make sure you have a snack before the workout, not a big meal, just a snack, something with Carbs. Don’t worry about the extra calorie you will burn it off as you train hard.

You’re not too old to start something new.Don’t let the world tell you otherwise.

You can start new.You can start over again. You can build the body of your dreams now.You can learn the skill that seems so challenging.

You can fall, stumble, fail, bail, ruin it all,and start again.

No, you’re not late. No, some 20 year old doesn’t measure up to you, your mind, your talent, your focus, your will, your patience, your knowledge, and your precision.

Save this for when you need the reminder.

This is your reminder that softness and strength go hand in hand. Aerial practice is the perfect example. Creating art with your body, delicate, expressive, deliberate and yet requires shoulder and pec activation, hip and back flexibility, extreme physical endurance, and a high threshold for pain.

Muscular strength does not eliminate feminine expression. On the contrary, it amplifies it.
It’s almost like it’s the nature of our own humanity to be both strong and delicate at the same time.

What’s one thing that makes you feel both powerful and soft ?

⚠️ Warning Sensitive content: blood involved

Yesterday I did my first at home PRP session with the help of my family.

For those who don’t know, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) involves drawing your blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, and injecting the platelet-rich portion back into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.

The concentration of platelets in your own blood has incredibly healing properties that help you heal your own skin, body and even grow your hair.

If you know me, you know I’ve been dealing with significant hair loss over the past year. I’ve lost about a third of my hair, and it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve gone through.

Before taking a more aggressive approach, I went through multiple medical treatments including steroid injections and clinical PRP and traveling abroad for care.
The cost in Canada is extremely high reaching thousands per session.

Now I’m taking a more hands-on approach with the support of my family.
I do have a doctor at home supervising and a lab tech.

This is not something I recommend doing without proper medical knowledge, sterile technique, and understanding of the risks.

Hair regrowth is not instant. It takes consistency and a combination of treatments over the course of several months.

I’ve been through this before in 2021 and I successfully grew my hair back.

And now we’re doing it again.

If you or someone you love is dealing with hair loss, follow along. I’m documenting the process, the wins, and the setbacks.

What makes you skip the gym?
Share your experience in the comments.

I was in a car accident that left me injured, traumatized, and fighting to stand on my own two feet.

When I got back to the gym, all my strength was gone. But that’s when I realized the focus wasn’t on lifting heavy anymore. The focus was on training to support recovery.

I hear people all the time say they can’t train because they had an injury six months or a year ago. That honestly shocks me. 😳

You should be training because you had an injury. Your full recovery depends on it.

What are your thoughts? Have you had an injury that just never went away?
