With spring break over now and coming closer to the great weather, we will be closing for a week to get ourselves mentally prepare for what could be our busiest year yet.
We will be closed from friday April 10th to the 16th. We'll be back on Friday the 17th.

Asking our local community for help!

In 2020 my wife and I visited Uganda for a month. Many of you may remember the project to try and get a cargo container of bikes and other needed items for struggling Ugandans. Unfortunately a pandemic stopped the project before it even had a chance to become a reality.

We were very blessed to meet Charles Mpanga and his wife Mary Hope who run an orphanage and a school just outside of the Kampala district. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit Charles and the (at that time) 54 orphaned children. While there, he show me around the small piece of land they have secured and showed me their water source, which was a stagnant pool of dirty water full of typhoid. Children would climb down with yellow jerry cans to fill them up daily. Typhoid is a serious threat in most 3rd world countries.

When we returned to Canada (3 days before the airports shut down due to covid), we realized the importance of clean water, so in 2023 we decided to fund a water project for Right Education Foundation (REF). It included a 5000 gallon storage tank and roof gutters directing the rain water to the tank. Total cost: $1100 Canadian. No more Typhoid!
Most recently, my wife and I have purchased a solar system for the school and dorm to give some light at night and also a charge center for charging phones and it also came with a 32"TV so they can now watch educational programs. some of the now 100+ children had never even seen a TV before.
Jocelyn and I wish we could buy them everything they need but there's only so much we can do ourselves. This motorcycle is so important for Charles to be able to provide these children with everything they need and will need in the future. Charles has always provided us with receipts and photos of all of the work that we have supported them with to ensure we know the money is going to where it was intended to go. Unwavering integrity.

We have replaced our lost shop phone! 😉

Our apologies if you've tried to call the shop and got no answer. We lost our shop phone a couple of days ago and with no luck finding it we will have to replace it. Ugh!

It has been decided!
We will be closed for 2 weeks starting this Sunday the 19th of Oct. We will return on Saturday Nov 1st.
If you have a bike to pick up please try to be here before 6pm on Saturday the 18th.

After a busy biking season, we will be taking a long needed break for a full month, sometime in the middle of October. We will be available for scheduled pickups during this time if your bike is ready for pickup and we will be using this time to get all caught up on repairs.

GARAGE SALE!!
Today feo 10am to 6pm we have the boneyard opened up for bike enthusiasts to browse around our overstock. A bunch of project bikes "as is" for $20-$50. Tons of used tires for $5 -$10 each, and several frames plus lots of parts!
Come on by if you've got a few minutes to get in on the great deals today!!

We will be closed Saturday July 12 due to a music performance Bones is doing with his Greasy Hush Money band. We will be open Sunday at 11 then closed for the usual Monday Tuesday. Sorry for any inconvenience.

All of us at Re-Buy-Cycle shop are grateful for all of the support we have received over the last 9 years. The bicycle donations we have been gifted have been incredible and the kids bikes donated to our free program have been in the thousands. Many of them gift quality.

Unfortunately we are having to reassess our program as we have been hearing from many sources and customers that they have purchased bikes on marketplace that are from our program. We understand the financial challenges people are going through, that is the reason we do what we do with our free "exchange" program. After 9 years and over ten thousand bikes, we should have had thousands of bikes returned. Instead, we are finding an empty storage of bikes and cannot supply kids with bikes as we have been doing for so long.
We don't expect a donation for the bike but we have always made it clear to please return it when you no longer need it. And we also offer a free pickup because some people dont have the means to transport bikes. If you have perhaps forgotten that you have one of our fleet, could you please return it or call us for a pickup so we can get our stock full for the upcoming riding season.
Sorry to have to even bring this up, but we are seeing too many disappointed children coming through due to this problem.
