July garden
The berries are still going strong, the first slicer tomatoes are ripening, grapes are filling out on the vine, and the baby kiwi are officially on their way! Every corner has something growing, and it’s so satisfying to see it all coming to life.

A beautiful summer evening in the garden, and the blueberries just keep coming. No complaints here; I’m soaking in every moment of this bumper crop season 🫐
This year I let a few gladiolus bulbs pop up where they pleased, and tonight I was rewarded with a lovely surprise: Gladiolus murielae blooming in the planters. Such a stunning flower with the most delicate, sweet scent.

She is a beauty! Might be time to name my sourdough starter if this loaf is as good as it looks!
I decided to make my own sourdough starter and have been baking about a loaf per week since it was ready!
It has been so fun getting back into baking sourdough again and I’m diving in and learning even more about the science of this delicious baking method.

The pumpkin is growing bigger every day! 🎃 While I wish there were more on the vine, I’m thrilled to have one perfect carving pumpkin coming along.
And I’m absolutely in love with the new dahlia blooms that have transformed the garden this year! 🌸 I’ve always kept a few flourishing in the dahlia box, but decided to expand them into the main garden, and they’ve added so much colour. I plan to leave them in the ground again over winter—they seem to love it here and come back bigger every year.
Already dreaming about adding even more varieties next spring! 🌱

Nothing like the late season garden! So many cherry tomatoes coming out of the garden daily, the pumpkin plant is really getting going and the dahlias are in full bloom 🧚🏼

Did a big blueberry harvest during my lunch break today 🫐
And spotted a few new blooms in the garden as some of the new dahlias I planted this year are starting to open up!

It’s officially tomato & cucumber season in my garden.
The tomatoes sure took their time this year but I’m happy to welcome them whenever they arrive!
Fraser decided to put together a few bouquets for our garden stand tonight, so if you are local stop by!

The garden has been slower to produce this year (mostly due to a 🐰 friend). But it just makes this harvest all the sweeter 💚

I love a beautiful volunteer in the garden and these poppies are no exception 💜
