Even though Tigon is closed, the legacy of Master D echos on. He taught many children, young adults and adults words to live by and the student creed. He was fiercely proud of his students and Tigon family. Today we want to say Thank you Master D. And Happy Birthday. We miss you.

Hello Tigon family,
We wanted to inform you, what many already know. Master Dudley has retired and has closed Tigon Black Belt Academy as of last November 2020.
Thank you for all of the support, help and loyalty Tigon has received through many people through the years. It was a community we appreciated through the years.
This means there are no more classes.
Thank you again and please enjoy the memories .

Hey Tigon family
I hope you are all well and staying safe!
I wonder how many of you are running through your curriculum daily?
Some of you are no doubt applying student creed # 5 and are working hard to achieve the things you believe in... others, not so much. If you believe in the value of taekwondo you will practice, practice and practice. If you don't you will put it off until some other time. Remember: Procrastination is a silly thing, it only causes sorrow, but I can quit it any time, I think I will - TOMORROW!!
It looks like things are going to be shut down for awhile yet, but in BC and especially on the Island we are all doing a great job of our civic duty to stay home and practice personal hygiene and physical distancing.
No student fees are expected, nor cheques cashed during this time of uncertainty unless you generous souls contact me to go ahead - your guess is as good as mine how this will effect the future - but for now we just have to make it through today, and then tomorrow, and then the next day.
This pandemic will come to an end - we just don't know when... and we need to adapt and make this our new reality. We need to learn to live with uncertainty. We can and with continued practice (practice, practice, practice) we will. Human beings do not like change - we are creatures of habit - but we are extremely adaptable given time, and we will adapt to this.
I am still thinking about online classes so if you are interested (parents and students) please let me know. There is no sense developing a program if there is little or no interest.
In the meantime, there is taegeuk poomse demonstrated on the website or Google WTF taegeuk poomse and select a level you are comfortable with.
I am well and getting all my backdated house and yard projects completed. Keep practicing your curriculum, especially poomse, follow Bonnie Henry and Adrian Dix's guidelines and don't worry about what is happening in the rest of the world as you have no control or influence there. Do your part and do it well!
Keep calm and kihap!
Master Dudley

Greetings to all students and parents of Tigon Taekwondo Black Belt Academy!
What a Topsy Turvy world our Earth has become!
In the weeks and months ahead we each are going to have to adjust, adapt and accommodate the changes that Covid - 19 virus has brought upon us all.
As I said to all students and parents that were present last week, I would keep the dojang open until concern about this virus was deemed serious enough by our political/healthcare professionals to close schools and when that happens I will close the dojang also. Further I also said we would remain closed until it was considered by the authorities to reopen schools, and I would reopen the dojang.
Well it has happened. As of yesterday all schools are closed until further direction and the dojand is now closed (as of 8:00pm yesterday) until safe to reopen.
This disease is unprecedented (never happened to this degree before) and at this time no one knows how long it will last or how it will end - that is what the authorities mean when they say we are all in this together - not just in BC or Canada, but all over the world!
Over the next little while I plan to offer a class or two each week for those who wish to keep up their taekwondo skills - online, so we can all be safe. Once I have worked out the details I will inform you via this platform.
I will speak to students who are planing to test for their first dan or subsequent dans about how we will proceed to get you tested and certified either this spring for some or this fall for others - so be assured we will get this done.
Underbelts who wish to advance to their next belt level when ready will be given the chance to do so - we will have to be creative using electronic media but it can be done.
The Poomse and Weapons Forms Tournament is postponed until it is safe to go ahead - so go online to view some weapons training and practice, practice, practice. Make your own weapon if necessary - be inventive!
In the mean time continue to follow all the instructions given by authorities intended to keep you safe.
This pandemic will come to an end and we will soldier on as best we can until it does. Do not lose heart. Be brave an optimistic because as the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once said:
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger".
So remember, KEEP CALM AND KIHAP!
I will be in touch soon.

Update: 1:52 PM Tuesday
Due to the current heavy snowfall both in the area and over the Malahat (where Master Dudley lives) it is in everyone's best interest to close the Academy for all classes today.
Students are welcome to attend Saturday classes at 10 am and to mix and match classes to make up for cancelled classes. Everyone's safety is our first priority.
There was a bad black ice accident (cars off the road ) after dark at 8:30pm monday night, right near Thetis Lake on the highway. We consider the weather in a holistic view from 4pm-9pm when thinking about safety and driving.
Any further closures will be made on a day to day basis so please check this site for updates. Please forward this information on to any others you feel may not check the Facebook site regularly.
Thank you.
Master Tim
