OUR HEARTS (AND DANCE FLOORS) WERE VERY FULL LAST WEEKEND. ❤️
What a weekend! We hope everyone is feeling rested but if you're like us, you're still riding the incredible energy from the weekender!
✨6 hours of workshops.
✨4.5 hours of social dancing.
✨4 incredible performances.
✨3 amazing guest artists.
✨And an immeasurable amount of energy, connection, laughter, learning and dancing.
Our 3rd Salsa & Bachata Weekender is officially in the books, and we’re still taking it all in.
What started as an idea to bring more opportunities for Latin dance to the Yukon continues to grow into something we are incredibly proud of. This weekend was about so much more than the hours spent on the dance floor. It was about watching people challenge themselves, make new connections, cheer each other on, and share in something we all genuinely love.
A huge thank you to Wayne Barbaza, Kristal Barbaza and Arely Santana for sharing your knowledge, talent and energy with our community. Having you come to the Yukon to teach, perform, dance with us and invest in our community means more than we can say.
To every artist who took the stage, thank you for sharing your talent with us. And to our first-ever YLD Ladies Performance Team—watching months of training, hard work, nerves, laughter and growth come together on that floor was incredibly special. We couldn’t be prouder. ❤️
And to everyone who took a workshop, stayed on the dance floor all night, watched a performance, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, brought a friend, or simply showed up and added your energy to the room—thank you.
These weekends only happen because people continue to show up, participate and support what we’re building.
Our Latin dance community in the Yukon continues to grow, and looking around that room this weekend was a pretty incredible reminder of just how far we’ve come.
Three Weekenders down, and so much more still to come.
Thank you to this amazing community for making this one so special 💜
