Windsor Dance eXperience Inc. (WDX) is a non-profit theatrical dance company dedicated to giving local kids an outlet for creative and physical activities.

Windsor Dance eXperience aims to provide the ultimate theatrical experience to anyone who has the heart and love for the arts. Whether performing, working backstage or enjoying a performance, WDX is an experience for everyone. Windsor Dance eXperience believes in understanding its members and recognizes them as individuals with unique ideas and styles. WDX encourages everyone, young and old, to come out and enjoy performing. The company exists so that those who haven't the means or outlet to dance can now do so. All Ages and abilities are welcome and included; experience is not required, it is given. WDX provides a positive pastime for youths and a great learning environment for acting and dancing. There are many opportunities to work in all aspects of theatre: backstage, costume design and set construction, and last but not least, performing experience. Additionally, youths are able to gain volunteer experience for all the time that they put in assisting the company.

This week we would like to recognize Alyssa Girard from the junior company and Abby Poisson from the Senior company!☀️

Alyssa always lends a helping hand and acts like a leader with her Christmas Crew. She encourages others to focus and leads by example which helps the instructors a lot. She was also the top tag day collector with just her mom’s help. Thank you for being such a bright spirit!👏

Abby is an amazing junior instructor who always thinks of ways to improve her kids’ performance. She carries this with her in her own rehearsals by helping others to focus and leading by example. She consistently strives to be the best version of herself by taking extra technique classes and open classes. She has even made an appearance at the adult classes. Honestly we should just set up a place for her to sleep at the studio. Thank you for giving so much love to our juniors, your peers and your instructors. Your work ethic is admirable.🙌

Tickets are now on sale for our Holiday Extravaganza playing at the Capitol Theatre December 11th - 13th.
Land of the Beats is a modern retelling of The Nutcracker. WDX has taken some of your favourite characters such as the Sugarplum Fairy and brought her back to life as DJ Sugar P. Uncle Drosselmeyer is now MC Dross, the host of the Christmas Eve Dance Battle. The Rats and Rat King are a rough and tough gang outside of the club known as “The Rat Pack”.
After a fight between siblings, and a duel in the alley where the Nutcracker comes to the rescue, Clara ends up finding herself traveling to the Land of the Beats (Land of the Sweets) where she learns dance is not about competition but about celebration!
Tickets are available at www.windsordanceexperience.ca
Come be a part of the holiday magic!

This week we would like to recognize Megan Tim from the junior company, Ella Wilcox from the Intermediate company and Olivia Chapman from the Senior Company as our Dancers of the Week!✨

Megan was on fire today with the Soldier Crew! She retained all her choreography very well and performed it with snap. She also took the time to teach another dancer choreography that they missed without skipping a beat. Megan is one of our newest members and we can’t wait to see what else she can do.🌟

Ella stepped outside of her comfort zone this week learning an Afrobeats piece. She fully embraced it and let the rhythms roll through her body. She continued learning another hip hop piece, dancing confidently like a leader. That C jump is beautiful! Way to go Ella!🙌

Olivia also stepped outside her comfort zone and immersed herself in the afrobeats movement. She was simply beautiful to watch. After an exhausting Friday, she continued to learn new choreography over the weekend and supported the company’s fundraising initiatives by taking on an extra tag day shift as well as picking up and dropping off supplies! Thank you so much Liv!🕺
