Surfing in Peru was unexpected…we had no idea this was a surf spot, but it was SO FUN 🏄🏼‍♀️🌊

Location • Lima, Peru

• Many locals will set up their tents along the beach to offer rental boards. We were unsure about leaving our belongings in their tent, some offer to keep it in their car, but we had no issues, everything was there when we got out of the water 2 hours later!
• There are surf schools in this area that are happy to have beginners join. We opted out of this, we simply rented a board and water shoes and self-taught ourselves during our time
• Make sure you are a strong swimmer. Strong currents and various sized waves will challenge your swimming capacities. It can be very tiring very quickly

Humantay Lake - Day 1 of the trek to Machu Picchu

• The elevation is 13, 779 feet above sea level
• This lake is the Lake Louise of Peru in my opinion. The water is bright blue, the mountain has the same v-like shape, and the mountains are snow capped
• This lake is glacier fed and is approximately 5° Celsius
• The hike to get to Humantay is moderate-difficult and takes approximately 2h 45 mins
• Swimming is not allowed to protect the lake’s condition and ecosystem

This is a beautiful spot to enjoy nature & crisp, fresh air 🌲
