A letter from Scott Morgan. Some of you have said you are not getting the mass emails that are sent from the Aactive Coin website. So to ensure everyone is up to speed - Below are his comments.

It has come to my attention that some parents have questions regarding the organization of fundraisers by Dave Leather, the collection of proceeds, and the disbursement of funds at the end of the season.

Firstly, Dave is a dedicated volunteer, consistently managing the Junior League every Saturday morning without compensation. His efforts are driven by a genuine passion for the league, and without his commitment, these opportunities would not be available for your children. Aactive supports Dave's role in running the Junior League and makes minimal profit from these activities. Our hope is that early participation will encourage children to join the adult league once they turn 18.

Comprehensive information addressing these concerns has been shared through multiple emails and meetings on Saturday’s during the league. Staying informed by reading these communications is strongly recommended. Although I do not have a child participating in the Junior program, I ensure to review all relevant emails when they are sent out..

Families who participate in fundraisers organized by Dave will receive proceeds proportional to their individual efforts. For instance, if a family sells ten tickets for the Ho***rs Fundraiser, those funds are allocated specifically to them. Each family may request their individual total; group totals will not be disclosed to protect privacy.

Proceeds from group fundraisers (Cue Raffle and what Dave sells in Fundraising efforts) will be distributed equally among Junior Players attending the VNEA World Junior Championships in Nebraska. While there is no entry fee for the championships, each event requires a Green Fee. The intention is to cover all Green Fees, provided sufficient funds are available. Currently, the fund stands at approximately $600-$800, with the exact figure pending due to refunds required from the Music Bingo Fundraiser.

It appears that most families have limited interest in fundraising activities. As such, I have advised Dave to refrain from organizing additional events. Without future fundraising, there will be no collective funds to assist with championship entries, and families will be responsible for covering their own expenses.

This fundraiser had big potential and is super fun - BUT - Due to low attendance, we can’t afford to run it. Fundraisers are not supposed to cost money and it’s not fair on the host to cancel any later.
