RAT RIVER SETTLEMENT
“An exhibition highlighting the history of the first inhabitants of Rat River, the Métis. Originally from the Red River Colony, the Métis had already been living semi-nomadically for years in winter camps at Rat River, even before the establishment of the Saint-Pierre mission or the arrival of the railway in Otterburne.”
Also, the St-Pierre-Jolys Museum is proud to present a temporary summer exhibition showcasing works by Métis artists from our community. This initiative honours the creativity, history, and cultural identity of the Métis people of Manitoba.
A celebration of our community’s Métis heritage.
