School Me campaign happened last year in Kamuli district on Easter Monday.
Its happening again in Katwe
You can support the campaign by donating scholastic materials, financial support, contributing towards reusable sanitary towels and sponsoring the reusable sanitary towels training.
You can also offer support by volunteering, offer your expertise in Health and wellbeing of young people during the campaign on Easter Monday.
Together we can make this world a better place for children and young people by contributing to their access to quality education and health wellbeing.

In 2016, an estimated 1.4 million people were living with HIV in Uganda, and an estimated 28,000 Ugandans died of AIDS-related illnesses.

As of 2016, the estimated HIV prevalence among adults (aged 15 to 49) stood at 6.5%. Women are disproportionately affected, with 7.6% of adult women living with HIV compared to 4.7% of men.

In 2016 around 33% of adults living with HIV and 53% of children living with HIV were still not on treatment and many people living with HIV experience stigma and discrimination.

Groups most affected by HIV in Uganda; Adolescent girls and young women;
Every year 9,600 young people aged 15-19 years are newly infected with HIV.
HIV prevalence is almost four times higher among young women aged 15 to 24 than young men of the same age.
66% of all the new HIV infections are concentrated among adolescent girls.
Only 43% adolescents have ever tested for HIV
In 2014, only 38.5% of young women and men aged 15-24 could correctly identify ways of preventing the sexual transmission of HIV and rejected major misconceptions about HIV transmission.
In 2015, it was estimated that 567 Young people aged between 15-24years get infected with HIV every week and of these 363 are Girls!
In Uganda 3% of adolescent girls 15-19 years live with HIV and prevalence doubles [7.1%] by the time they are 24 years (UAIS, 2011).
Young women who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) were 50% more likely to have acquired HIV than women who had not experienced violence.
60% of adolescents 10-19 years have experienced physical violence, 42% emotional violence and 10% sexual violence.
