Shuttler Dadi Nirmala Negi Mam Wins Three Silver Medals at Sudama Cup 2026

Dehradun’s “Shuttler Dadi,” Nirmala Negi, Mam delivered an outstanding performance at the 8th Sudama Cup Veterans Badminton Tournament 2026 held in Chandigarh. Competing in the 65+ age category, she won silver medals in all three events—Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
MD of Baluni Group, Vipin Baluni Sir honored her at the school premises and said that Nirmala Negi is an inspiration not only for senior citizens but also for the youth. She has proven that even at this stage of life, one can stay healthy and active through sports.
The tournament began on April 25 and aims to promote sportsmanship and fitness among senior citizens. Notably, Nirmala Negi has previously won several medals in badminton championships held in places like Goa, Colombo, and Nepal.
