Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro
This impressive building, beyond being a masterpiece of architecture, is above all a place of worship. The honorary title of “Minor Basilica,” granted by Pope John Paul II during its consecration on September 10, 1990, also makes it a center of pilgrimage and spiritual reflection. It is a Marian sanctuary that welcomes all the faithful who come to pray to Our Lady of Peace.

The monkeys of Soko are sacred primates living in harmony with the inhabitants of the village of Soko, near Bondoukou, in northeastern Côte d’Ivoire. 🇨🇮
A true tourist attraction, these primates are protected by ancestral customs. They are not eaten and are even buried like humans.
