OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – AITUTAKI HANDBALL ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE
Kia orana e te iti tangata o Aitutaki,
On behalf of the Aitutaki Handball Association (AHA), the Aitutaki Sports Association (ASA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Association’s inaugural Annual General Meeting — a historic milestone for our island and for the development of handball in Aitutaki.
This AGM marks the first time in Aitutaki that an official sports meeting has been conducted entirely online, demonstrating the power of social media as an effective and inclusive platform for community engagement.
We proudly present the newly elected Executive Committee of the Aitutaki Handball Association:
- President – Reg Potini
- Secretary – Jenny Jared Richard Cadainggan
- Treasurer – Samueltp Keu
- Senior Vice President – Wayne Jnr Robati
- Vice President – Willynn Karika
- Vice President – Robyn Henry
The Office Bearers Election was facilitated by the Handball Cook Islands National Federation Madame President Ms Makiroa Mitchell John who also serves as the Oceania Handball Federation Secretary General. We extend our sincere appreciation for her leadership and support.

Statement of Transparency
As the current President of the Aitutaki Sports Association, I wish to affirm that my election as President of the Aitutaki Handball Association carries no conflict of interest.
The ASA constitution allows for Presidents to support and uplift emerging sports codes, especially during their establishment phase. My involvement ensures:
- Strong governance support for a new and developing code
- Clear alignment with ASA’s mission to grow sport across Aitutaki
- Transparent leadership, with all decisions made collectively by the AHA Executive
This dual role is held solely to strengthen pathways, not to influence funding, decision‑making, or representation unfairly. All processes remain accountable, minuted, and guided by the principles of fairness, integrity, and service to our community.
This AGM was not only productive — it was a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and the bright future of handball in Aitutaki.
To everyone who attended and contributed: meitaki atupaka for your time, commitment, and willingness to embrace new ways of working together.
The Aitutaki Sports Association looks forward to supporting the Aitutaki Handball Association as it grows, strengthens, and champions this exciting sport for our island.
