Another successful season in the books for the Tupapa Maraerenga Premier Men’s Rugby League Team 🏆💜🖤
A huge appreciation to the players, coaches, management, executives, and supporters for an outstanding 2026 season, successfully defending the title once again.
As the Strength & Conditioning Coach working in collaboration with Evolution Sports Rarotonga, I’m truly grateful for the trust and belief the team placed in the S&C program throughout the season. From pre-season preparations, in-season conditioning, recovery protocols, wellness monitoring, and gym performance, the boys committed themselves to the process every single week.
One of the reasons behind the team’s success was the players understanding the importance of a well-structured Strength & Conditioning program and fully buying into it along with the coaches game plan and structure. When athletes trust the process, stay disciplined, and consistently show up ready to to put in the hard work, it makes the role of an S&C coach much easier.
Most importantly, the team’s values, culture, work ethic, discipline, respect, and commitment were showcased throughout the entire season both on and off the field. That environment created a standard of excellence that helped drive this group toward another championship-winning year.
To the 17 players who took the field in the Grand Final, and the remaining squad members who contributed throughout the season — every one of you played an important role in this achievement.
A special acknowledgment to Coach Darren Piri, Manager Delaney Yagona, President Maru Willie, the club executives, and everyone involved behind the scenes for your continuous support and belief in the program.

We the Generation staff of TAU aka the Power Boyz are excited to kick off our fitness and wellness journey for 2026! Partnering with Evolution Sports Rarotonga ✊️ we're dedicated to helping the Power Station team achieve their health and fitness goals.

Our program began on Tuesday, the 10th Feb, featuring two weekly strength and conditioning sessions designed to empower and transform.

Jnr Tennis Cook Islands EPQ Campaign 2026.

Firstly, a huge congratulations to the Junior Tennis Cook Islands team for their outstanding performance at the EPQ Tournament in American Samoa. Coming out as victors across multiple age-group categories is an incredible achievement and a proud moment for Cook Islands tennis.
Evolution Sports Rarotonga is extremely proud to have been involved in the team’s Strength and Conditioning programme, which ran from November 2025 through to January 2026, concluding one week prior to departure. The commitment shown by these young athletes—training consistently through the festive season—demonstrates maturity, discipline, and a genuine desire to improve.
This success is a direct reflection of the hard work, resilience, and focus each athlete invested throughout the preparation phase. The physical development, movement quality, strength, and conditioning improvements were evident in their tournament performances.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank Davina Hosking, President of Tennis Cook Islands, for reaching out to Evolution Sports Rarotonga and entrusting us with the physical preparation of these junior athletes. Strong leadership and collaboration like this are vital for athlete development pathways in the Cook Islands.

Handball Cook Islands 0CHF World Qualifiers & HIF Trophy Championship. Beach Handball Championship NZ.

The Cook Islands Beach Handball teams recently returned from Christchurch, New Zealand. The tournament brought together some of the strongest beach handball nations in the Oceania region, serving as a pathway event toward international competition.
Women’s Team Performance – Silver Medal 🥈
The Cook Islands Women’s Team delivered an outstanding campaign, finishing second overall and securing the Silver Medal.
*Individual excellence was recognised with the MVP Award to Shannon Van Eijk 🙌🙌🙌

Men’s Team Performance – Bronze Medal 🥉
The Cook Islands Men’s Team also delivered a commendable performance, finishing third overall and claiming the Bronze Medal.
*Individual recognition with the Top Try Scorer Award Eli Topui.

Their podium finish further demonstrates the upward trajectory of beach handball development in the Cook Islands.

From a performance perspective, it has been a true blessing for Evolution sports Rarotonga to be invloved as their strength & conditioning coach. The commitment shown by both squads in preparation phases—gym sessions, sand conditioning, power development, repeat sprint hospital hill training, and recovery protocols—translated directly into competitive performance.

This result marks a significant milestone for Cook Islands beach handball and reflects the growth of the women’s program.
