FIFA President Gianni Infantino has made it clear that no one will be allowed to touch the World Cup trophy until the day of the final.

🗣️🗣️ “This trophy is very special, and it will only be presented on the final day. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, will be the one to present it. This is one of the most special trophies in football history, and we are also looking at ways to modify and improve it.”

Sadio Mané on the AFCON trophy, speaking with Rio Ferdinand 🇸🇳🏆

🗣️🗣️ “AFCON is the most intense trophy I have ever competed for. This AFCON trophy gives me more sleepless nights than any other competition I’ve played in. You never know how painful it is when people put their trust in you and you end up breaking their hearts.

AFCON supporters are very passionate — they can even react angrily if you don’t perform the way they expect. Because of that pressure, I often lose sleep thinking about the right strategy to play and how to win.

You’re not playing for yourself; you’re playing for the entire nation. That’s why you must always give your very best.”

Gyan Asamoah names his African Football GOAT

Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan was asked by Rio Ferdinand to choose between Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba, Sadio Mané, and Mohamed Salah as the greatest African footballer of all time.

🗣️🗣️ “I think Samuel Eto’o comes first, followed by Didier Drogba, then Sadio Mané, and finally Mohamed Salah. I consider Eto’o number one because of his physical strength and his ability to protect the ball and use it effectively. You rarely see him lose possession unnecessarily.”

🚨💸🤑CAF announces that the AFCON in Morocco is undoubtedly the most successful commercial story in the history of African football as the commercial success of the Competition has led to over 90% increase in the CAF revenues for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025!

This rise in revenue was influenced significantly by the increase in number of commercial partners of CAF, increase in media rights distribution and interest generated in new markets like the Far East, as well as China and Japan alongside the usual markets.

Talking about sponsors, CAF had 9 in the AFCON in Cameroon, 17 in the AFCON in Ivory Coast and a record 23 in the AFCON in Morocco.

🤌🌡️💥This incident raises serious concerns that go far beyond a single moment of chaos.

During the AFCON final, a Senegalese fan was punched in the face by a security personnel as supporters stormed the stadium.

Such an act is highly unusual and unacceptable, especially at an AFCON final a tournament meant to celebrate African unity, passion, and hospitality. Scenes like this are rarely, if ever, associated with CAF competitions, let alone at this stage.
It forces an uncomfortable but necessary question: does Morocco truly see itself as ready to host the World Cup?
Because hosting global football is not only about infrastructure and stadiums, but about crowd control, security professionalism, respect for fans, and crisis management under pressure.

The world is watching. And moments like this do lasting damage not just to a tournament, but to a country’s credibility as a future World Cup host.

French coach Claude Le Roy once pulled back the curtain on the 1986 AFCON final experience:

🗣️"When I was coaching Cameroon 🇨🇲, we faced Egypt 🇪🇬 in the final.
Egypt blocked all our training pitches, and we were forced to train in a public park surrounded by cars. We only had about 100 square meters of space.”

It’s one of those stories that reminds you how, in AFCON history, home advantage hasn’t always been just about the crowd.

Hosting has sometimes come with little tricks, mind games, and logistical gymnastics meant to tilt the balance.
Fast-forward to 2025, and Morocco came in promising order and professionalism yet AFCON folklore still found a way to breathe.

From missing towels to unexpected innovations, the spirit of survival remained alive.
In fact, Nigeria’s goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali reportedly confirmed he’s learned a new AFCON survival technique:
locking his towel to the goalpost before kickoff especially when facing Morocco.
AFCON never changes. Only the tactics do.

🚨🇸🇳🇲🇦Morocco's justice system has decided to keep 18 Senegalese supporters arrested on the sidelines of the AFCON final match in pre-trial detention!

Their situation is being followed "closely" by Dakar, assures Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, who calls for vigilance regarding the not always accurate information circulating on social networks.

There have been increasing calls for fraternity in handling the issue , so as to avoid diplomatic tension between both nations.

Moroccan coach has expressed deep frustration over the outcome of the AFCON final, insisting that the tournament was destined for Morocco.

🗣️"Anyone who truly understands football will agree that this AFCON final was meant for Morocco. It is very painful to accept that the trophy was taken away and handed to Senegal for reasons that cannot be justified. History will always remember that AFCON 2025 in Morocco belonged to Morocco. Senegal may celebrate the victory, but in my honest opinion, we were the real winners.”

Cristiano Ronaldo on the AFCON Final (Senegal vs Morocco):

🗣️🗣️ “To be honest, I watched the AFCON final and I was very happy to see Sadio Mané reach the final. He’s a player I truly enjoy watching during the AFCON tournament. I don’t follow him only because we play for the same club, but because he’s a special person. Sadio has a unique heart — whether in matches or during training. He never takes things negatively; he approaches everything with calmness and positivity.”

Man. United Confirms Casemiro's Departure this Summer

Casemiro will be leaving Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of this football season, the club has confirmed. The 33-year-old midfielder has been a solid member of the Red Devils team since 2022, when he joined the Premier League club from Real Madrid.

He has played 146 games through four seasons, scoring 21 goals to date, the club said, praising Casemiro for his “combative nature and ability to score goals at crucial times.” United also acknowledged his contributions to their triumph in the 2023 Carabao Cup and the Emirates FA Cup in 2024.

The Brazilian star said he will “carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life”.

He added, “From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club.

“It is not time to say goodbye; there are many more memories to create during the next four months.”
