“Women are the environmental stewards, the carriers of ancestral knowledge... Women have built fashion’s past and they are fundamental to fashion’s sustainable future.” —
This Women’s History Month, I’m reflecting on what it actually means to build a brand with women at its core. From wide-eyed newcomer in Shanghai to founder of a sustainable swimwear brand recently recognized by as one of the top women-owned brands making waves in ethical fashion - it’s been a journey of wins, lessons, and work still ahead.
The stats are stark: 80% of garment workers are women. Only 2% earn a living wage. But numbers only tell part of the story. Behind them are real women - makers, menders, advocates - who hold this industry together.
Our latest goes deeper. Link in bio to read. 💙
*P.S. 20% off on our mini program through March 31. Investing in women-owned, sustainable brands? That’s how we build the system we want.* ✨

“Earth is no easy boss.” 🌍✨
That’s the closing line from ‘s raw, 150-page sustainability report for 2025 - a report that admits even the most mission-driven fashion brand can’t truly be sustainable.
So… why do we keep going?
Not because we ignore the truth, but because we choose to work within it. With clear eyes, and with will.
In our final of the year, we sit with the hard questions we’re still untangling. Questions about repair, materials, and how to do better within a broken system.
We don’t have all the answers. But we’re committed to the work, to the community, and to the stubborn optimism of building something better - one conscious stitch at a time.
If you’ve been thinking about a swimwear refresh that aligns with that intention, we’re here for you with 20% off for the rest of the year with code HAPPYHOLIDAYS.
Here’s to ending 2025 with clarity, and stepping into 2026 with purpose. 💙

That moment your “investment” piece becomes a life lesson 👜💔 ...and the brand’s solution is a consolation candle. 🕯️ (Yes, really.)
It’s the perfect example of the “Want Economy” in action - all hype, no longevity.
But what if we shifted to an Intention Economy? One where we ask:
✨ Is this for clout, or for keeps?
✨ Does it spark joy and stand the test of time?
With holiday sales rolling in, it’s the perfect moment to pause and choose quality over quantity.
We explore all of this, plus the real cost of “luxury” and the hidden side of recycling in our new article.

That virtuous feeling of buying secondhand? 🛍️♻️
Turns out, the data shows we might be fooling ourselves. A new study confirms what I’ve felt watching my most conscious friends: secondhand fashion is now mirroring fast fashion’s overconsumption cycle.
More hauls, same waste - just with a “green” label. Sound familiar?
This isn’t about guilt. It’s about clarity. Swipe left to learn how to spot bot-driven false urgency, choose intention over impulse, and invest in what truly lasts.
Because the goal was never to stop buying - it was to start knowing.

🌏 Last night, I had the honor of speaking at the 8th Climate Commons event in Shanghai. I always strive to make each talk unique, and surrounded by such thoughtful and engaged listeners, I was reminded of the irreplaceable power of real human community 👥❤️ - what it takes to build, nurture, and give back to it.
🌊➡️🧠 We dove into a topic close to my heart: “The Algorithmic Deluge: Why Small Brands Are Our Antidote.” Together, we explored how small, intentional choices - and the brands that champion them - can help us reclaim our attention ✨👀, our values, and our future from the noise of automated consumption.
That energy reaffirmed what I’ve always believed: small businesses don’t just sell products - they build belonging 🤝. They create spaces where dialogue thrives, values align, and change feels possible because it’s personal.
Thank you, , for the invite and to everyone who came, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their stories. You turned a talk into a conversation and that’s where the real magic happens. ✨💫

🌍 Ever feel like the “sustainable” label in fashion has lost all meaning? You’re not alone. ♻️🤔
This summer, while world leaders struggled to finalize a global plastic treaty 🌐📉 and fast-fashion brands somehow scored sustainability credentials 🏷️🔄, a quieter, more powerful movement kept growing: the one where we simply share what we already have 👗💞.
For our monthly , we’re breaking down:
✅ The good
❌ The bad
🤥 The downright confusing
…in sustainability - from greenwashed B Corp certifications to why Julia Roberts sharing a dress on the red carpet matters more than you think 👇✨.
Plus, I’m sharing a personal story about a six-year-old pink dress that’s currently on a world tour with my best friend 🌎👯♀️. Because sometimes, the most radical act is just passing something on.
Because if not us, who? If not now, when? ⏳🙌

“Women drive 80% of fashion spending, yet we’re 37% less likely to use AI tools than men.”
This statistic has been something I’ve been meaning to tackle with . Not just because it reveals another gender gap, but because we’ve seen firsthand how financial literacy is power.
At last week’s webinar, .simran.kaur and founders Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni demonstrated how their AI-powered resale app gives women the same data elites use to transform closets into appreciating assets.
This revolution is already underway. A decade ago, my co-founder, , and I were called idealists for proposing QR codes to track garments from factory to landfill - now known as Digital Product Passports. We advocated penalizing brands for overproduction years before EU regulations made it plausible. Even our dream of 3D-printed custom swimwear is inching toward reality.
The pattern is clear: today’s “radical” idea is tomorrow’s policy, IF we refuse to settle.
So let’s be ruthless about where we put our money. That “accessible luxury” handbag? Call it what it is: LINO (Luxury In Name Only), depreciating faster than the latest TikTok trend. But that Birkin, it’s a college fund in waiting. Rolex isn’t just a time piece - it’s outperformed gold since the 1970s.
The full piece (link in bio) reveals which brands treat your purchase as disposable trash and how to make every dollar work as hard as you do. Because the future isn’t something we wait for, it’s what we build. And this time, women will write the code.

🪡 and the Quiet Rebellion of Repair for ✊
Meet your new superpower: a needle, thread, and the stubborn refusal to let perfectly good clothes die young. This , let’s embrace the joyful chaos of repair and a book 📚 that’ll make us fix-it fanatics.
🔥 Why mending feels like gaming the system:
✔️ Fast fashion hates this trick: It extends a garment’s life by 9 months. We’re talking 30% less impact.
✔️ Obviates landfill audacity: We toss garments piled as high as the Eiffel Tower every 16 seconds.
📖 Our forever-recommendation (>>swipe): Fixation by Sandra Goldmark. It’s like a warm hug for your conscience, packed with “aha!” moments about why repair is anything but boring.
Challenge: Mend something (anything!), tag with , and flaunt your handiwork. P.S. Snarky embroidery optional but encouraged. 😉
