This morning I did my first full hour of physical yoga in 2021.
I know it’s already like Jan 22 but this year so far has been full of yoga in other ways.
If you follow my other Insta account (why do I have two I have no idea it’s absurd) you know I’ve had an adventure with a new sport this week 🤿
I first tried scuba diving a few years ago in a pool in the suburbs of Paris. I couldn’t get my PADI though because I couldn’t take my mask off underwater.
Fear, anxiety, allowing my emotions to overwhelm me.
So last week I tried again, in a much more inspiring environment I admit. And my darling scuba instructor reminded me about “the crazy lady upstairs,” the one whispering how I couldn’t do it, how I would certainly drown. He told me not to listen to her, instead I could listen to my breath.
I learned (relearned) that you just have to focus on taking long, calm breaths.
Calmness in the breath keeps calmness in the body keeps calmness in the mind.
And then, after practicing these tools for a few days, yesterday I took my mask off 8 meters below the surface.
And now I have my PADI.
And I’m just obsessed with how the tools of yoga apply to like EVERYTHING.
And I can’t wait to practice them with you next week, when I’ll be back on the online schedule 😘😘😘
Ps ... my scuba instructor told me he teaches underwater scuba diving meditation HOW COOL IS THAT

Dear world,
I promised my fellow teachers, students and myself I’d be back to online classes this week.
Flights delays & a new activity 🤿 have altered the original plan but I guess we’re all pretty used to the unexpected by this point.
Truly hope to be back Jan 26 ❤️ & in the meantime please check out the schedule that has anything you can hope for for your online yoga/fitness desires ..... & if not please let us know and we’ll make it happen !

Just a little check in to remind you is BACK this week 🍾🍾🍾
Happy new year.
Eight months ago I was running around Paris to make it to the countless yoga classes I was teaching and taking at the myriad of wonderful yoga studios in our city.
I just want to express an immense awe and gratitude I have in my heart for the yoga studios, teachers and students who have persevered through this crazy time.
To the studio owners: 👏👏👏 Thank you. Thank you for staying strong, for your courage to adapt and your determination to continue making yoga accessible at a time we particularly needed it.
To the teachers: 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you. Thank you for getting on Zoom or Instagram or Google Video or whatever it was to hold the space and create a calming energy despite going through your own immense hardships.
To the students: 😘😘😘 Thank you. Thank you for showing up, thank you for your support, thank you for being dedicated to your practice during a time of so much tumultuous change and uncertainty and getting on yet another hour of screen time so we could share our practices together.
I hope this year will allow us to safely practice in person together once again, I hope you’ve had a healthy and happy new year despite the circumstances and I hope I will soon be able to tell you about my 2021 schedule with and but as usual I’m unorganized so as soon as I figure it out I’ll let you know 🤪🤪🤪

Grateful to .yoga for the wonderful class & the super reasonably priced unlimited monthly. Staying sane in September = forcing yourself to yoga even when it’s Monday and everything is falling apart and at least it’s a hundred degrees but then you remember global warming and feel insane again.

AND I’m so excited to be teaching hot power yoga three times this week :
Wednesday 8 am
Thursday 11 am
Friday 8 am
•
Also those promised online classes are coming the first week of October slowly but surely guys I’m sort of kind of getting my life together WOOO

Okay I’m going to be honest sometimes I hard core complain about yoga, doing it, teaching it, people involved in it etc, but today I had one of those experiences like OH MY GOD WE LEARN SO MUCH USEFUL S**T FROM YOGA.
I was in a sh*tty mood when I got to class partly because the American Film Festival in Deauville is causing insane traffic / parking situations so I was late and partly because I stayed up until 4 am watching the real housewives of NYC.
But the kindhearted and educated instructor asked me something eye opening that was a metaphor for life as yoga tends to be : Why are you forcing?
Stop forcing. Relax.
It was so basic and obvious but like the important life lessons can be so basic and obvious.
Stop forcing. Relax.
I feel like sometimes when you just chill the f**k out instead of actively trying to control and force everything you experience the most unique sensations, often things actually work out better, more seamlessly.
Idk if this is making sense but whatever basically all I wanna say today is stop forcing & relax & I hope your Sunday is magic ✌️💕
Thank you for class Deauville.
