On June 29th, HSTY teacher Falguni Parikh had the joy of conducting a beautiful outdoor yoga session. Practicing in the fresh air created such a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere. It was wonderful to come together, move mindfully, breathe deeply, and simply be present in the moment.
Yoga is so much more than physical exercise. It is a spiritual journey that helps us reconnect with our true selves. Through conscious movement, breath, and stillness, we cultivate inner peace, clarity, compassion, and balance. Every practice is an opportunity to quiet the mind, open the heart, and deepen our connection with ourselves and the world around us.
Grateful to everyone who joined the session and shared their positive energy. May we continue to carry the calm, awareness, and joy of yoga into our everyday lives. ๐๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฟ

On this beautiful Sunday morning of July 4, HSTY practitioner Sudarshan along with MYC volunteer Mr. Samarth from India organized a heartwarming session of memorable, fun-filled yogic activities combined with sports and playful games for the little children at Badamakahan Anganwadi School located on Siddiah Road in Bangalore.
Approximately 15 children between the ages of 3 to 5 wholeheartedly participated in joyful movement, jumping activities, playful games, and rhythmic clapping exercises, creating beautiful memories filled with laughter and innocence.
To add to the joy of the day, books, pencils, shoppers, and erasers were lovingly distributed to all the children, and each book carried a small but meaningful message intended to inspire them on their journey of learning.

On 28 June 2026, Mohanji Acharya Yastheel had the honour of representing both Mohanji Foundation South Africa and the Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga at the International Yoga Day Celebration, hosted by Gayathri Peedam South Africa.
The event held special significance as it commemorated 30 years of dedicated service by Gayathri Peedam South Africa in promoting spirituality, culture, and community well-being.
The celebration brought together various yoga schools and spiritual organisations in a shared expression of yogaโs timeless wisdom. Throughout the morning, attendees experienced a rich and diverse programme featuring yoga demonstrations, traditional dance performances, and insightful spiritual talks, all highlighting that yoga is far more than physical postures, it is a path towards inner transformation, self-awareness, and unity.
Representing the Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga, Yastheel presented a traditional yoga demonstration centred on the principles of balance, strength, stability, and conscious connection.
The event also showcased a variety of yoga traditions, including Laughter Yoga, Chair Yoga for professionals, and other contemporary and traditional approaches, demonstrating the inclusiveness and universality of yoga.
Participants were further inspired by profound discourses from His Holiness Swami Shankarananda Maharaji, the Guest of Honour, and Swami Mohana Bhaktananda Bharati, who eloquently spoke on the true essence of yoga as a means of cultivating inner connection, harmony, and expanded consciousness.
The celebration served as a powerful reminder that while yoga may be expressed through many different styles and practices, its ultimate purpose remains the same: the union of body, mind, and consciousness, leading to a life of balance, compassion, and self-realisation.

On 25th June, 2026, we celebrated International Day of Yoga at Mohanji ka Aangan, Saket, New Delhi.๐งโโ๏ธ๐
Through a light and joyful session, children were introduced to Yoga as not just an activity, but a way of living. They learnt how practising Yoga daily can help build strength and flexibility, improve immunity, enhance focus and bring calmness to the mind.
We began with gentle warm-ups, which the children enjoyed with full attention and enthusiasm. Their energy grew as we moved from asanas into Surya Namaskar.
The session concluded with the calming humming of Bhramari Pranayama and a few moments of silence that were deeply felt by all.
After the session, the children shared that they felt happy and lighter. We ended the morning with full hearts and a delicious mid-day meal for the Aangan children.

During seven comprehensive sessions, participants had the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamentals of pranayama under the expert guidance of Usha Lakshminarayanan, the main faculty member of HSTY. Practical demonstrations throughout the course were conducted by Sudarshan, helping participants understand the correct techniques and subtle aspects of each practice.
The course covered one cleansing technique (kriya) and eight classical pranayama practices:
1. Yogic Breathing
2. Kapalabhati (Kriya)
3. Bhastrika
4. Ujjayi
5. Surya Bhedana
6. Nadi Shodhana
7. Sheetali
8. Sitkari
9. Bhramari
Participants learned not only the individual techniques but also how different pranayama practices can be combined into a balanced sequence. Special emphasis was placed on developing awareness of the natural breath, practicing according to one's individual capacity, and gradually extending the duration of inhalation, exhalation, and breath retention in a safe and systematic manner.
The course also included preparatory exercises that are recommended before pranayama practice, particularly for days when a full yoga asana practice is not possible. These simple practices help prepare the body and mind, ensuring that pranayama can be practiced safely and effectively.
The course provided participants with a strong foundation in traditional pranayama, emphasizing correct technique, mindful awareness, and the gradual development of a sustainable personal practice.

On June 23rd, HSTY teacher Nidhi led a super fun chair yoga session at DFW Hindu Temple, the largest temple in Texas. With 150 participants, the hall was filled with energy and smiles.
The HSTY session was loved and enjoyed by our seniors. They loved chanting the mantra, the guided meditation, and a series of accessible chair postures designed to reset, restore, and relieve aches and pains. Teaching yoga to senior citizens means focusing on safety, alignment, and functional movement. Our goals: improve mobility, support joint health, and enhance balance to maintain independence and help prevent falls.
It was a wholesome, soulful experience for all. Yoga truly is for every age.

Many participants were inquisitive about Mohanji. Several already follow him from his visit to Texas and the satsang held at the temple. They expressed interest in joining future Mohanji meditations, programs, and spiritual processes.
Heartfelt thanks to the organizers of DFW Hindu Temple for this opportunity and for supporting wellness in the Texas community and for LIVE streaming the Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga seesion with the virtual audience of Facebook.
This yearโs 12th International Yoga Day theme is Youth Vitality and Long Life, and our seniors embodied it beautifully.
