RAF Akrotiri Swimming Pool 2020

Hi all,

Due to a bit of a leak, the Akrotiri swimming pool will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. (14th-16th April) for repairs.

Back open Sunday 18th x

Latest swimming pool timetable 9th - 15th November

Good evening all,

The Akrotiri Swimming pool is open tomorrow and all next week for Adult only lane swims. The times are as normal.

All swimming lessons and Happy Snappers will start again week beginning Monday 16th x

Akrotiri are putting a swimming team together for the annual swimming gala held in the Ayia Nic Station Swimming pool.

This event is on Thursday 15th October.

If you are a competent and reasonably competitive swimmer, are willing to swim in races & relays of 50m, please comment below and someone will get back to you.

All transport is provided.

Akrotiri Swimming Pool

Due to situations beyond our control we have been unable to run the usual lifeguard courses this year which I am sure you can understand.

This has left us desperately short of staff and at present to run the pool safely and fully manned, we are unable to run any of the advertised public swims. This being Tuesday 1430-1600 and Sundays 1000-1300.Due to this the decision has been taken to cancel these sessions until the next course is completed.

It is only the Public Swims that require several staff members on site that is effected.

ALL OTHER SESSIONS ARE AS NORMAL.

We have not taken this decision lightly but your safety is our priority.

As funding has now been made available for equipment needed, the next Lifeguard course is now planned for October half term.

With the recruiting of new staff these sessions will return plus the Super Slide sessions on a Sunday.

If you would like to become an RLSS UK Qualified Lifeguard (NPLQ) please email the swimming pool on [email protected] for more information and an application form. This is an internationally recognised qualification that can be taken on future postings.

Akrotiri Swimming pool

Hi all

Rookie lifeguards is now on a Saturday morning from 1030-1200.

This is open to all children from 7yrs plus but they must be able swim at least 15m unaided and be reasonably confident in the water.

All will learn valuable water safety skills whilst having fun at the same time.

Only €5 per child, please bring a healthy snack and drink ( no nuts please)and make sure all have sun cream and a hat.

All children will be working towards the RLSS UK Rookie Bronze 1 Award but at their own pace. Once achieved they will move into the next award.
