“Our Athletic Department, at PASCAL English School Larnaka, started its operation in September 2014, offering a high level of education to children, talented in sports. We strive to increase their chances of excellence, always in consolidation with their academic education.

The training programme of our student-athletes aims to improve the four main areas of sports, which are Technical, Physical Fitness, Tactics and Psychology. Additional goals of the programme are to enhance our student-athletes’ self-confidence and self-esteem; to strengthen their body and mind, as well as to cultivate the ability to set goals.

Many of our Football and Martial Arts (Judo & Taekwondo) athletes, have become renowned in both Cyprus and abroad.”

During their training sessions, student athletes from our Athletic Section, prepare hard to enhance their physical condition; technical skills and general tactics. Athletes are encouraged to develop confidence; sustain team spirit and improve their wellbeing. This enables them to maximize their athletic performance, in addition to achieving their maximum academic potential.

We are pleased to announce that a pupil from our ‘Athletic Section,’ Maximos Zipitis has been granted a full scholarship by the University of Rochester, USA, for his studies in mechanical engineering (starting in 2021). He has also been given a place in the Division III Soccer Team. "Throughout my high school experience at Pascal English School Larnaka, I have discovered what I would like my future career to be based on. My teachers at Pascal helped me realize that my inclination was towards sciences and maths. After deep thought and guidance from supportive teachers and the Headmistress, I decided that mechanical engineering was the path that suited me the best. Although I was accepted from Warwick, my vision is to study in an American University. I feel proud of being a member of the big Family of Pascal and feel grateful for the strong foundation it has provided me."

The main aim of the Athletic Section is to offer an integrated academic and sports programme to athletes that enables their performance to be enhanced, aiding them in potentially becoming professional athletes, while achieving their maximum academic potential at the same time.
