Με μια ιδιαίτερα δυνατή παρουσία ολοκληρώθηκε η συμμετοχή μου στο ABCD Singles Open, ένα απαιτητικό τουρνουά bowling που συγκέντρωσε συνολικά 108 συμμετοχές και προσέφερε έντονες αναμετρήσεις σε όλα τα στάδια της διοργάνωσης.

Το τουρνουά διεξήχθη σε τέσσερα διαφορετικά λαδώματα, όπου το καθένα αποτελούσε ουσιαστικά ένα ξεχωριστό τουρνουά με τον δικό του τελικό. Οι συνθήκες απαιτούσαν προσαρμοστικότητα, σωστή ανάγνωση του διαδρόμου και σταθερότητα στις ρίψεις.

Σε ένα από αυτά τα τέσσερα τουρνουά κατάφερα να φτάσω μέχρι την κορυφή, κατακτώντας την πρώτη θέση, κάτι που αποτέλεσε μια ιδιαίτερα σημαντική στιγμή στην πορεία μου στη διοργάνωση.

Με συγκέντρωση και αποφασιστικότητα αξιοποίησα αυτή την ευκαιρία και εξασφάλισα τη συμμετοχή μου στον Μεγάλο Τελικό.

Στην τελική φάση το επίπεδο ήταν ιδιαίτερα υψηλό και ο ανταγωνισμός έντονος. Με υπομονή, επιμονή, εμπειρία και σωστή στρατηγική, κατάφερα να προχωρήσω σταδιακά μέχρι τους τέσσερις κορυφαίους αθλητές του τουρνουά, ολοκληρώνοντας την πορεία μου στην 4η θέση της γενικής κατάταξης.

Η συνολική εμπειρία από το ABCD Singles Open ήταν εξαιρετικά σημαντική για μένα, καθώς κάθε παιχνίδι αποτέλεσε μια νέα πρόκληση και μια ευκαιρία για εξέλιξη.

Η παρουσία ανάμεσα στους κορυφαίους αθλητές μιας τόσο μεγάλης διοργάνωσης αποτελεί τιμή αλλά και κίνητρο για ακόμα μεγαλύτερες προσπάθειες στο μέλλον.

Θέλω επίσης να εκφράσω τις θερμές μου ευχαριστίες στους διοργανωτές για την άψογη διεξαγωγή του τουρνουά, καθώς και σε όλους τους αθλητές που συμμετείχαν και συνέβαλαν στη δημιουργία μιας πραγματικά ανταγωνιστικής και όμορφης διοργάνωσης.

Το τουρνουά είχε όλα τα συναισθήματα που μπορεί να σου προσφέρει αυτό το άθλημα. Ήταν πολύ ανταγωνιστικό, με μεγάλους παίκτες, μεγάλες εντάσεις και υψηλό επίπεδο.

Το επίπεδο δυσκολίας των λαδωμάτων είναι αυτό που μας έκανε να βελτιωνόμαστε από squad σε squad.

Είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος και περήφανος που τερμάτισα στην 3η θέση και έχασα από έναν εξαιρετικό παίκτη όπως ο Γιάννης.

The honorary plaque was presented as a symbol of respect and gratitude to Mr. Richani for being an inspiring presence within the bowling community.

Playing the Bagger Oil Pattern – 48ft

Technical Insight from Champion
Giannis Stathatos

The Bagger 48ft oil pattern used during the Grand Finale is considered a demanding sport pattern, mainly due to its long length.

At 48 feet, the backend reaction becomes limited, meaning the bowler must create the correct ball roll in the midlane in order to maintain control and carry through the pocket.

Success on this type of pattern requires strategy, patience and lane reading.

🎳 Equipment & Surface Strategy

To manage the long pattern effectively, Giannis selected two bowling balls with strong surface preparation, allowing him to control the early part of the lane.

🔹 Brunswick Cobalt Hybrid – 360 grit

This ball was used at the start of the finals.

The rougher 360 grit surface helped the ball read the lane earlier, preventing excessive skid which is common on longer oil patterns.

The main objective was:

• Control the midlane reaction
• Keep a smaller angle to the pocket
• Maintain predictability and control

🔹 Track Paragon Hybrid – 500 grit

As the lanes started to transition and develop friction, Giannis made a strategic adjustment.

Switching to the Track Paragon Hybrid (500 grit) allowed him to:

• Create a stronger and more stable roll
• Maintain better continuation through the pocket
• Adapt to the changing lane conditions

🔑 Technical Keys on Long Patterns

According to the Champion, the most important factors when playing a 48ft pattern are:

✔ Correct midlane reading
✔ Small adjustments with feet and target

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε η Final Phase 3 Round Robin του ABCD Singles Open Tour 2025–26, μιας διοργάνωσης που συνεχίζει να εξελίσσεται και να αποτελεί έναν από τους πιο ανταγωνιστικούς θεσμούς του κυπριακού μπόουλινγκ.

Οι 8 κορυφαίοι αθλητές της διοργάνωσης αναμετρήθηκαν μεταξύ τους σε ένα απαιτητικό Round Robin format, διεκδικώντας τις 4 θέσεις που οδηγούσαν στο Final Step 4
Step Ladder, εκεί όπου θα κρινόταν ο μεγάλος πρωταθλητής της χρονιάς.

Οι αγώνες πρόσφεραν υψηλό επίπεδο ανταγωνισμού, μεγάλες επιδόσεις και δυνατές συγκινήσεις, επιβεβαιώνοντας το αγωνιστικό επίπεδο των αθλητών που έφτασαν μέχρι αυτή τη φάση της διοργάνωσης.
