With 29+ Tires, a slack HT angle and 140mm of front suspension this MTB proofed itself a perfect Travel-Trail bike again on my past 6 days MTB Bikepacking tour from Cuneo to Manosque.

Thanks for the great framebag which he traded me for me doing some reaming and facing stuff on a MTB frame of his.

All my sleeping gear and a clean set of clothes was in the handlebar bag.
Water, Snacks, Powerbank, toothbrush, headlamp, spare parts and tools found place in the framebag and the toolbox.

Having no saddle bag was great on the demanding, rocky, steep and fast downhills.
I found the weight distribution perfect. The weight at the handlebar was great for keeping the wheel down on steep climbs and it was stable enough on the descents.

Thank you "Le Bonbon" you did a great job.
Riding a MTB in MTB Terrain is the best as cycling could get!!!
As soon as we get home I treat you with 3 new rear wheel spokes. Promise.

DC No. 065 - sixfifty mountain bum

These beautiful pictures from Spencer Harding from last years BESPOKED | Europe’s Largest Handmade Bike Show have been sitting on my harddrive since then.
I always wanted to make a "mountain bum" post but somehow never did it.
Today is the day.

I have been riding the "mountain bum" quite a bit this year. I absolutely love it.
It feels a tiny bit too much for the evening ride to the lake, it's great for day trips and I absolutely loved it on my 10days cyprus crossing tour in April.

Of all the bikes I built during the past 8 years - this is my favorite.
With all the little details, of course, It's also the bike I put the most workshop hours in.

DC No. 073 - Sabbatrad

Stefan is going to travel in europe for the next 3 months and that's his bike.

We figured Ladelux, , .bicycle, tubeless 50mm tires, racks and a comfy geo are a great set up for being out in the nature for some time.

The nickel plated frame features FM brake mounts, a PF30 BB shell for eccentric bottom brackets, integrated torque support for the Rohloff hub and integrated cable routing.

First joints I put my hands on this year.

It's a straight forward sporty Allroad bike for a lovely guy who loves his city.
I built the frame 2 years ago...sometimes things happen before a project can be finished...

Tapered HT with IS Headset, internal cable routing, T47 BB.

This is the Bike Polo Bike of .ab

I know him and play with him since he is a 14years old kid.
Now, beeing in his very early 20s, he evolved to one of the best Bike Polo Players in Europe.

I'm so super happy that he loves the Bike I built 2 years ago and that it suits his style of playing perfectly.
But beeing the framebuilder also means that I have to put the frame back together again whenever there is something - and in 2 years there was something.
As a +1,90m and +90kg Player .ab really puts the bike to test - especially with his super fast wheely and front wheel turns (pivots) - and I must say that as much as I hate the fact that I have to do so many repairs on one frame the much do I love the learning about the weak points of a a top Level Player Bike Polo frame.

The major repair History:

Head tube cracks left an right of the top tube joint - I cut out the upper half of the HT and fixed it with a kind of bilam HT reinforcement.

Both chain stays cracked on the bottom side of the dents for tire clearance - I put new stays in and added reinforcement plates.
On the same occasion I discovered a very small dent on the bottom of the down tube close to the HT - I just reinforced it with a gusset.

And very recently - The right side Dropout snapped - due to very tight timeline .cycles jumped in and helped out to do that beautiful DO repair and reinforcement. Thank you, Bro.

The Bike ist ready for the Worlds now - Go and get the title .ab
