🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: FIFA is introducing a new offside technology for the 2026 World Cup.

· The system will alert assistant referees when a player is more than 10 cm offside, allowing them to raise the flag sooner instead of waiting for the play to finish.

· This should reduce unnecessary play, frustration, and the risk of injuries caused by delayed offside calls.

· Human officials will still make the final decision and can ignore the alert if they think something is wrong.

· The technology cannot handle very close offside calls or subjective offside decisions (such as whether a player interfered with an opponent).
