🏟️ NATIONAL STADIUM 🇷🇴

Its story begins with the old Stadionul Național „23 August”, which opened in 1953 and stood on the same site for more than five decades.

The old stadium was demolished in 2007-2008, making way for a completely new arena, while retaining part of the original earth embankment.

Designed by gmp Architekten, Arena Națională opened in 2011 and has a capacity of 55,634 spectators.

But its most impressive feature is above the stands. 👀

The roof uses a sophisticated spoke-wheel cable structure, allowing the central membrane to retract and cover the pitch when needed.

The stadium has hosted major events including the 2012 UEFA Europa League Final and matches during UEFA Euro 2020.

Half of the football field can be lifted and moved sideways, revealing additional seating underneath and transforming the stadium into a completely different indoor arena.

The result is a building that doesn’t simply host different events.

It physically transforms itself for them.

🚨 LAS VEGAS’ NEW $2 BILLION STADIUM IS TAKING SHAPE!

The future home of the Athletics in Las Vegas is starting to look like the spectacular vision that was promised. 🏟️🔥

A second massive steel truss arch has now been installed on the Las Vegas Strip, bringing the stadium’s roof structure closer to completion. The design is expected to create a striking silhouette inspired by the iconic Sydney Opera House. 🇦🇺

The $2 billion domed ballpark will have a capacity of around 33,000 seats and is currently scheduled to open for the 2028 MLB season.

The newly installed central truss marks a major milestone, with the project now entering an intense phase of construction over the coming months.

The stadium will also become a major landmark on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip — and one of the first buildings visitors will see when arriving at Harry Reid International Airport. ✈️🌆

Meanwhile, plans for the surrounding development are also moving forward, with Bally’s working to secure financing for a massive mixed-use project featuring restaurants, shopping, entertainment, a hotel-casino and a 2,500-seat theater.

And there’s already huge demand for the new stadium: almost all seats in the premium Athletic Club have reportedly been sold, while around half of the club-level seats are already gone.

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for one of the biggest stadium projects in the United States — a $3 billion enclosed stadium planned for Wyandotte County, Kansas, near Kansas Speedway. 🏈🚀

Designed by MANICA, the new stadium is expected to open in 2031, creating a new home for the Chiefs while preserving the legendary atmosphere that made Arrowhead Stadium famous.

🔹 Transparent Roof: Around 400,000 sq ft of ETFE panels will allow natural light into the stadium while helping support a natural grass playing surface.

🔹 Around 70,000 Fans: A compact, acoustically focused design will aim to preserve and amplify the incredible noise that has become a trademark of Chiefs Kingdom.

🔹 Tailgating Tradition: More than 20,000 parking spaces are planned, helping keep one of the NFL’s most iconic pregame traditions alive.

🔹 $3 Billion Investment: The project is expected to combine public and private financing, with the Hunt family covering the private portion of the investment.

🔹 A New Entertainment District: A roughly $1 billion entertainment development is also planned around the stadium, while the Chiefs are planning a new headquarters and training facility in Olathe.
