Miniatur Wunderland, Hamburg – world’s largest model railway 19/12/2016

We've recently had the chance to visit Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, and... guess what? We could live there. Seriously. :D
This place is amazing, and there's never enough time to see everything!
It's probably the first time that we've ever seen a model railway made with such attention to details, so many interactive elements and hilarious scenes.
Definitely one of Germany's best (and funniest) attractions!
🏡🚃 🏰

Miniatur Wunderland, Hamburg – world’s largest model railway More than 15.000 meters of tracks, over 260.000 little figures and nearly 400.000 colorful lights that change every couple of minutes illuminating the exhibition to resemble night or day, all of it divided into 9 incredibly detailed, miniature realms: Central Germany, Hamburg, Austria, Switzerland,…

Aaand we're in Germany now. :)
It's time for Christmas markets & mulled wine! 🎄
The only thing missing is snow, but hopefully it will be here soon. ❄️ :D

Any Game of Thrones fans here? Do these ruins ring a bell?

Turns out - if you add some CGI and a bunch of people in funny outfits, this place transforms into the city of Mereen. Yup, we're at the feet of Daenerys Targaryen's palace.

Welcome to the Klis Fortress!

Part 2 of our sensational series entitled "us looking at things" ;) - here is Manu looking at a shipwreck. 🚢

A daytrip to Salzburg – castles, cemeteries and sanctuaries 21/11/2016

Catching up!

Obviously, Salzburg is not only about the animal sanctuary - there are lots of interesting things to see and do in this charming Austrian city. 🏰
If you want to see our recommendations for a short daytrip, check out this newest article!

A daytrip to Salzburg – castles, cemeteries and sanctuaries Salzburg – so far away from Vienna, so much smaller… and still, so similar to Austria’s famous capital. While it certainly won’t have as many sights as some bigger cities, it’s still a perfect destination for a day or two – especially if you’re looking for a stop on your way from Austria to Germany....

It's hard to believe that this was a week ago - now we're already packed in 3 layers of clothes, warm socks, gloves and winter jackets (probably looking like that: ⛄).
Despite freezing our asses off, we're happy to stay close to home and (hopefully) have a white Christmas this year. It's been a long time since we've seen some proper snow!

Today, in the company of two cats, one dog and an astonishing amount of Greek hospitality, we're saying goodbye to the fairytale island of Santorini. 🌄
We're still amazed by this country - and it's not easy to leave, especially when there are cold and snowy countries ahead of you... ;)
It's time to pay a short visit to our family and move on to the Western Europe. Christmas Markets are waiting! 🎄

Salzburg: first time in an animal sanctuary! 03/11/2016

The real reason behind our Salzburg stopover: animal sanctuary! 🐮🐷

We've had the chance to meet dozens of animals rescued from the food and entertainment industry: cows, circus donkeys, unwanted, old or blind horses, chickens, pigs, cats, dogs, peacocks (because giving them to someone as a wedding gift is not a smart idea...), raccoons, and much more.
While we do have a couple of concerns, it was still a great, eye-opening experience.
We'll be visiting more of these in the future! 😃

*Have you been to an animal sanctuary in Europe? Do you have a place you'd like to recommend? If so, let us know!*

Salzburg: first time in an animal sanctuary! It’s no secret that the main reason for our Salzburg stopover was to finally visit an animal sanctuary – an idea that we’d been toying with for months, but never really had the chance to carry out. The perspective of seeing animals given a second chance, being able to live in much more comfortable a...

Not a very celebrated holiday here in Greece, but... we'd never pass up on an opportunity for dressing up & room escape games. ;)
🎃 Happy Halloween! 🎃

Since we spend most of our travels looking at things, we decided to post more pictures of us doing just that.
So: Here's Kasia looking at the sea. ;)

Turns out - The Clueless Abroad is officially 1 year old! 🎂
..and we've completely forgotten about it. 😄

Still, it looks like we kinda celebrated it anyway - after 3 days of scenic bus rides through Montenegro and Albania, we've arrived in one of the most beautiful places on Earth - Meteora. 🌄
It's shoulder season, there's almost no tourists and, at least for the first two days, the weather was perfect. We couldn't have asked for more. :)
Greece (and the hospitality of it's people) has us completely charmed!

Now that Dubrovnik welcomed us with cold and rain, we can really appreciate how lucky we've been having maybe 2 or 3 rainy days in the last 2 months. ☀🌴

PS. Croatia is amazing! :D It's also a good excuse to be lagging behind with new articles. ;)
