Menefreghismo 🙌 🇮🇹
Amazing word invented by Italians basically meaning couldn't care less.
This philosophy of "not caring" is useful. Because of all the things you could care about, some need to be discarded.
Highlighting this for all who need a reminder to focus on things that matter and let the things that don't.. or things you can't do anything about...go. 🦅
Freedom from judgement because you simply choose not to care is freedom.
Do your thing.

IM70.3 Victoria 🇨🇦
This was .purzner major goal for the first half of the season as she needed to secure qualification for Nice World Champs.
Mission accomplished ✅
Other goals included first sub 5 half. Accomplished on a hard course ✅
Fastest bike split in her AG ✅ personal bests across all splits were not quite enough to win her AG but 2nd AG fourth overall in a phenomenal AG race. Lisa is literally Super Mom flying across the finishline 🦸♀️
Well done Kellie John throwing down a superb run catching Lisa by the line and kudos to on your phenomenal race to 1st OA. on display.
Melrad isn't a huge squad so Jason, Lisa, Jen and Beth all qualifying is so rewarding. I also am cheering for Mallory who came to a squad camp who also is going to Nice. Danielle is starting her IM journey and I was happy to see her do a great job at the race knowing g her progression from out February camp.
Getting faster at this discipline requires some speed and technical proficiency. Get the best coaching you can afford to progress these qualities and you'll get faster.

How to have a great race 🏊♀️ 🚴♀️ 🏃♀️
Want to race fast? Well it's T-2 days out. How's your mental state?. Performance anxiety is rough and for some athletes it can unravel months of prep. Let's not do that.
Pre race jitters are especially tough for high achievers. The reality is outcomes are the wrong place to be focused no matter what level you are at. So here's a quick thought to help.
Ultimately your result, how the race unfolds, and what the day is like are largely out of your control. Leave all of that aside. What will be will be.
Instead, focus on your best ex*****on and plan your best response. Make lists of what you need and how you'll prepare. Choose in advance your response to every possible scenario. Focus only on the minute you are in for every minute from now u til you finish.
Now that you are focused on what matters be positive, optimistic, curious about what's possible.
Now you're ready.
Good luck everyone visiting our beautiful city Victoria 70.3. Tear it up 🔥

N American XTERRA Champs Sweep🔥
Proud to help and .niemeyer deliver performances earning them P1 in both their AG. Top five overall for Trent and Freddie even cracked top 3. Dream day at the races.
So much fun 🤩 prepping the MelRad dirt demons to performances like this. Cannot wait for Worlds in Ruidoso.
I oversee the programming but get help and expertise in Knox for gym work. Shoutout to for expert guidance for Fred in the gym. Also need to credit Robbie handing him over to me this year to turn him into a triathlete with solid base cycling fitness.
Shoutout in Denver to @ for keeping Trent healthy and helping to nudge that explosiveness we've worked on for a couple of years.
Performances like this are a process. Getting fast and explosive in 45+ age groups takes good planning and careful progression. So f'n cool to see it come to fruition when it counted.
Thanks for the trust boys. Let's go again in October🙌

Melrad Moms- we've come a long way from Jane Fonda!
You have to be a certain age to remember Jane Fonda as an exercise influencer.... but I grew up watching my mom exercise to Jane Fonda videos. At the time... this was like the peak of fitness 😂
Still... that commitment to physical fitness certainly sowed the seeds for me to find my way into sports.
Fast forward to the MelRad moms and already there are collegiate triathletes, mother/daughter 50 mile rides and a whole other level of fitness being modelled.
Proof that the littles are watching and learning from moms with goals ❤️

Pursue skill development 👌
In my opinion, older athletes should invest MORE into skill development and coordination. Many already have decent aerobic development and are facing a deficit in strength because of movement issues.. not fitness.
You need to work on coordination and movement dysfunctions that are inhibiting force production.
The "fun fve" I coach are proving this beautifully 🥰. Don't think speed, plyometrics, and explosiveness are "bad" for you. What is bad is lack of coordination, mobility and strength .. especially as you get older. Make sure you can use it so you don't lose it!
I teach small group private classes for exactly this. So fun ❤️

MelRad dirt squad came to slay🔥
Solid hit out for two of the XTERRA gents at cross tri nationals. Basically a training race for Oak Mountain and an early season test of readiness.
Stoked for .niemeyer to win his AG, punch a ticket to Multisport worlds. Great start to the season.
Fast took the tape overall.... only to discover 3 miles of the bike course were missed 🤦♀️😭 Still fantastic first triathlon in over 10 years and good vibes only for the races to come.
Offroad triathlon is so rad. Going to be a fun year building to the Worlds in Ruidoso. If you are curious and want to Tri the Dirt.. we have a fun squad you can join ❤️

That winning a 10 km feeling 🥰
came to triathlon late and excelled early... winning her AG with little background or development.
She immediately turned pro.. and is now navigating the development curve in long distance triathlon without a collegiate run career or national governing body development and with a full-time job. 🙌
It's so fun being her coach and uncovering her potential methodically... building the base she needs patiently and sustainably.
Step by step... last weekend a shiny new all time best 10 km time.
There's no correct age for high performance. There is however, a required body of work. Have the confidence to put it together.
Make sure the process is fun.

5 km speed test 🏃♀️ 💨
Fun day out at the Bazan Bay 5 km aka YYJ 5 km worlds. Some super fast running here locally! 😻
Lisa is in my squad and us for mom speed. She took 2 minutes off her 5 km rolling in st 19:20 and a shiny new PR. Her training bestie Danielle joined my swim/run camp this year and also brought home a massive PR.
Christie is deep in a healthy marathon build and knocked out a superb 5 km. She's alumni for my Thursday night skills sessions and I'm so happy for her to be healthy and strong in this marathon build.
So fulfilling to see alumni from my classes and camps crushing their races. Love the running scene on Vancouver Island ❤️ and enjoying all the new athletes coming into my programs: one on one, consultations and classes.

The mid-race fist pump🔥
This is what I want athletes to chase. The EXPERIENCE of testing your limits. Well done in doing just that in your early 2026 season goal of Oceanside and enjoying the post-race feels of giving it all.
That picture says everything ❤️

MelRad squad 5 km szn 🙌
Perian joined our squad this year to race sprint and Olympic triathlons. We decided to attack her run competence. She was onboard with a lot of change - some of which I detail as follows.
Results came. She started with a 67" 10 km in lateJanuary, ran a 28:50 5 km in February and now a 27:40 5 km March 22nd weekend.
Dream progression in the 65-69 category. She is incredible in her strength, focus and attitude towards training (so a coaching dream).
Some coaching features I'm sure contributed to this improvement include:
#1. Attending the Feb skills camp to hone her run and swim technique. Muscle firing patterning is critical for healthy running.
#2 She threw away her orthotics and trusted the process of building strength through progressive loading (including lots of weighted hiking) before getting back to fast continuous run progression
#3 She has a consistent S&C program that includes plyos and specific run drills to build elasticity and reactivity. and I work together making her fast.
I'm convinced the entire 40+ age groups can get much faster. A lot of this confidence is based on the fact coaching is just so much better than when this generation was in their 20s.
Get the best coach you can afford and expect more. You can improve.
