“Standing here in Chile on the podium, pulling the World Champs jersey over my head, felt completely unreal and at the same time exactly how I had imagined it.

It took me a while to make the transition from Elite to Masters. I skipped the 35–39 category and entered straight into the Masters field at 42. I had no idea how I’d compare to the other women in my age group - especially the locals. But I trained harder than ever for this race, and the fear of losing pushed me every single day.

Winning the Mountain Bike Downhill World Championships and being the fastest women from all classes means more to me than words can describe.
