Going all-out.
Training far beyond your limits.
Complicated drills.
Flashy exercises that look impressive on Instagram.
That kind of content performs well on social media — but it’s rarely what actually makes players better.
No one is interested in watching top players doing:
- simple plank variations
- serve practice
- dry, repetitive footwork drills
It looks boring and it doesn’t scream “high performance”.
And yet, this is exactly what top players spend a huge part of their time doing.
The biggest mistake I see is players constantly searching for the next flashy exercise that promises fast improvement. Something new. Something harder. Something that feels special.
But the real “secret” that makes the difference has never changed. It’s basic work, done consistently over a long period of time and even on days where motivation is low and progress feels invisible.
Of course, top athletes do train hard.
They push their limits, work under high intensity and challenge themselves constantly.
But the difference is this:
They do it consistently. And they never stop working on the basics with quality.
What we do every day and every week ultimately decides how far we go and how good we become — not the occasional extreme workout.
In the next posts, I’ll share practical tips and simple exercises you should apply to your own training and sorry in advance: they won't be super flashy or spectacular but they work 😉
