Network for Open Afghanistan

Network for open Afghanistans representative and member Samira Ehrari is at the moment attending a seven day long conference in Hammamet.

The event takes place at the Mediterranean University on Youth & Global Citizenship
With focus on knowing and networking, use & sharing experiences with other people from around the world.

These are picture from the first day which is mostly about networking and socializing but also about creating a common understanding for refugees, migrants and asylum seekers.

Network for open Afghanistan’s representative and member Samira Ehrari took part in two consultation events - labelled, Afghan diaspora engagement for displaced Afghans, arranged by DRC in Copenhagen and Stockholm. The idea was to map Afghan diaspora in Denmark and Sweden to identify key challenges that diaspora organizations face in finding long term solutions to displacement. Prepare solutions and identify potential cooperation between diaspora organizations and other NGOs, INGOs, specially DRC. Our organization has immensely contributed to share our knowledge of Afghan diaspora and challenges of displaced Afghans. We have also shared our practical and creative solutions to the challenges.

Saturday more than 200 people attended the Afghan event: “Fra os til os, Fra Danmark til Afghanistan”. NOA participated and you can check out some photos from the event right here!

Today NOA attended the Afghan Filmfestival in Copenhagen. Khalida Popalzai, the founder and programme director of Afghanistan women's football team, was the guest of honor. She was interviewed about the recent achievements of Afghanistan women's football by a NOA volunteer. Khalida is one brave and amazing women who has done much for Afghanistan and for women's rights! We wish her all the best! The Afghan filmfestival has been arranged by many Afghan and non afghans, only to create awareness about Afghanistan, our culture, traditions and hospitality. NOA had a nawroz event for the members in Denmark.
Thank you all so much for joining us on the special occasion.

NOA want to wish every single woman around the globe a Happy Women's Day. One of our main focus point is to promote an vibrant and inclusive civil society in Afghanistan, which will not happen without WOMEN standing up for themselves, each other and standing together for justice.Therefor this status is dedicated to all those brave and strong women fighting for their basic rights every day in - and outside Afghanistan.

Interesting day together with members from several other afghan associations in Denmark. NOA had 4 votes for the Afghan Advisory Board in the Diaspora Programme.

Today Soma, the Project Officer, was at a visit at the Danish Refugee Counsil to have a meeting about the future work of NOA in the Diaspora Programme.
