Sailing Miles

Hmm, we must be getting near the International Date Line. Google Photos usually shows recent pictures as "Today". Some photos are now showing as "Tomorrow". 😜
Our first-light inspection showed a couple of things that needed to be fixed, One was critical! 😬🪢
Other than that, the sailing day has been glorious! The fish even left us alone. 🎣
We DID see whales two of the four days we have been out. 🐳 (You look for the blow spout to initially spot them.)

SV Miles has departed the waters of French Polynesia after an awe-inspiring few months.
We finished up some boat projects, prepped some meals and motored through the skinny pass out of Maipiha'a.
Eight days sailing to Tonga.
This morning we didn't have enough wind to overcome the seas rolling us back and forth. The rigging and sails were slapping and. noisy. In the afternoon the breeze freshened nicely. Now we have "ch*****ne sailing". Only the sound of the waves and the hiss of the breaking bubbles created by our passing.

Well, unless I get off course while trying to make a Facebook post. 🤭

We had fifteen boats in the anchorage on the remote atoll of Maupiha'a. Strong winds kept everyone but teenage windsurfers stuck on their boats.
The time inside was good for getting projects done, but six of us decided to hit the trails for a couple of miles.
