Alcaraz serving like Djokovic? 👀
If you have that feeling, you’re not wrong. I want to look at it with you and see exactly what Carlos picked up from Novak’s serve.
What’s interesting is that Carlos said very clearly that his team didn’t want him to make a change — so they didn’t work on it. He did it himself. And that matters. Everyone has to evolve. I’ve just changed my own movement a little bit recently because I feel more comfortable.
Most top players are scared to change. They’re afraid of losing something. Champions think differently. They want to progress all the time, and they’re not afraid to evolve.
The change we’re talking about is on the serve. There’s something similar to Novak: Carlos drops the hand and lets the racket head fall at the very beginning of the motion. The goal is simple — create more whip effect ⚡. It makes a lot of sense. Not everyone does it. Many great servers only create that whip at the end.
What I really like is this: Carlos’ game is never static. Technically, it’s always moving, always adapting. And that mindset — being open to change — is very particular to him 🔥.
Do you think this kind of evolution is what separates champions from the rest? 🤔

Stan Wawrinka doesn’t just have the best-looking backhand on tour — it’s also his deadliest weapon. 💀💥
Let’s take a closer look and understand why it’s so efficient.
One important detail I always insist on is preparation. Stan starts extremely early. His racket begins moving backward at the exact same time his legs start moving. That timing already puts him in control of the shot.
Now look at his right foot. He attacks the ground with his heel first. That detail is key because it improves the transfer of body weight from the back foot to the front foot, giving him stability and power.
You might ask how he compensates for the lack of power that usually comes with a straight arm. First, he has a very strong wrist action. His racket head makes a big loop and accelerates sharply just before contact.
But the biggest factor is his shoulders. At the moment the racket meets the ball, Stan’s body starts to rotate. His shoulder plays a major role in guiding the ball and producing that heavy, penetrating shot.
That combination is what makes his backhand so effective — and so dangerous.
Which part of Wawrinka’s backhand impresses you the most? 🤔
