Many people judge Lewandowski based on his goals and consider him untouchable in Barcelona's lineup. However, if you only focus on his goal tally, you may miss the bigger picture of his performance this season. While his goal-scoring ability is undeniable, his overall contribution to the team's play reveals some weaknesses that affect the overall game. I will highlight these weaknesses here.

Firstly, it’s important to acknowledge that Lewandowski is a world-class striker. He is incredibly lethal in the box and has a remarkable eye for goals. However, at 36 years old, age is catching up with him. He shouldn’t be leading the attack for a top club like Barcelona, where matches are fast-paced and intense. At this stage in his career, he would be better suited as a substitute or perhaps playing in a less demanding league outside Europe.

One clear weakness Lewandowski brings to the team is in his pressing. Under Hansi Flick's style of play, which relies heavily on high energy and constant running, Lewandowski is not able to keep up. His age limits his ability to press opponents' defenses, making it difficult for Barcelona to disrupt the opposition’s buildup play. This contrast is especially clear when younger, more energetic players like Ferran Torres or Pau Victor come on. Their ability to press higher up the pitch and force turnovers is evident, whereas Lewandowski's lack of mobility hinders the team’s pressing game.

While Lewandowski's goal-scoring record is impressive, his physical limitations at this stage of his career are impacting Barcelona's overall gameplay, particularly in terms of pressing and energy.
