Some fast racing yesterday at Chequamegon MTB Festival 😮💨
For my first appearance, I didn’t really know how this drag race was going to play out, so I decided to make an early attack from the 3 km mark and tried to hold it all the way to the line.
It was hard to control the race and keep track of the time gap, so I got caught by a small group with 6–8 km to go. I saw Matthew Wilson trying to attack, so I let him go and caught the wheels of Brendan Johnston and Keegan Swenson.
It was going well… until it wasn’t. I hit a pedal on a rock and dropped my chain. After a quick stop, I got caught by a bigger group and managed to stay with them.
Ended up in a bunch sprint and finished 8th.
It was really disappointing to end it like this, but I’m happy with the performance I put in 👌🏽
