A calm quiet yard with fantastic riding on our door step. Also foaling down, rehab & retirement.

Retirement here doesn’t mean not been ridden any more. Still so much we do with the horses at El Acebuche Stables. Today our senior retired horses enjoyed a peaceful in hand stroll through the campo, soaking up the spring sunshine, fresh grass, and blooming countryside after the weekend rain. These quiet moments are just as important as the active years keeping our clients older horses engaged, comfortable, and happy. 🌿🐴

And we have had two more days of storm life 🌧️⚡since my last post.
More rain is still on the way but we’ve been on it 💪 Clearing debris, keeping the outlets flowing, and making sure everything’s holding up despite the intense rain.
Horses are tucked up in the night paddocks with better shelter, dogs checked (even the ones not loving the thunder 🐶💔), and yes… we even got a large amount of hail stones.
Farm life doesn’t stop but we’ve got this. Stay safe everyone 🙏

Today we had Abigail Scarth Equine Osteopath here to work her magic on two of our liveries . And among them… the tiniest patient you could imagine.
Sunny a miniature horse (and full-time heart thief)loved and owned by Karina Beckx - Vanheumen had his very first session. Watching something so small be treated with the same care, focus, and respect as any grand horse was, honestly, a bit of a “cuteness overload” moment 🩷. Tiny hooves, big personality, and an expression that said, “I’m not entirely sure what’s happening, but I shall allow it.”
There’s something quietly beautiful about it all the idea that every creature, no matter their size, gets the attention and TLC they deserve. Whether tall, small, fluffy, or hooved, everyone matters here.
Safe to say, Sunny handled it like a pro… and may have gained a few extra admirers along the way. 💛

This morning we took two of our golden oldies out for a gentle stroll through the campo, soaking up the warm sunshine and the beauty of the countryside. Both horses are in their late 20s. These two aren’t rideable anymore but that doesn’t mean their days of adventure are over.
Step by step, we wandered together along quiet paths, stopping often (mostly their idea🤣) to nibble on fresh spring grass🍀. Bright red poppies dotted the fields and every now and then our pair would pause, ears forward, just taking it all in🩷. There’s something incredibly special about seeing them relaxed, curious, and content just being horses🐴🐴.
Moments like these are a gentle reminder that care doesn’t end when a horse’s ridden career does. They still deserve fresh air, new sights, and the simple joys of being out in nature. And honestly, walking alongside them, sharing that calm and connection, is just as rewarding for us.
Because here, every horse matters at every stage of life 🩷.
Until the next Campo walk

A perfect morning in the campo with these two lovely ladies 💕
We took 2 of our retired liveries out for a gentle stroll, letting them enjoy the sunshine and plenty of fresh green grass along the way 💚. Moments like these are what retirement should look like relaxed, happy, and well cared for.
So special to see them enjoying the simple things. 🌿

A lovely sunny welcome for our two new liveries as they met their neighbours for the first time today ☀️🐎
Calm introductions over the fence and plenty of curiosity all round. It’s great to see how relaxed they already are, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and settling in so well💕.

We’re delighted to welcome a new livery to the yard, who has travelled all the way from Belgium 🇧🇪 with her two horses.
It’s always a pleasure to welcome new horses and their owners to the farm, and we hope both settle in quickly and feel right at home. We look forward to you enjoying the peaceful setting of the farm and its beautiful surroundings.
A very warm welcome from all of us at El Acebuche Stables 🐎.

🌼 Spring Sunday at the stables this morning 🌸.

Blankets are off at last🙏🏻. Blue sky stretching for miles. That soft, warm spring sun that makes everything feel lighter. No 🌬️ wind 🙏🏻.
The horses stand in lovely spring green grass, heads down, completely content. No rush, no fuss just the steady rhythm of grazing, tails lazily swishing, the occasional sigh of pure happiness. Winter coats are shedding, backs are warm, and the field feels full again.
The dogs chase each other in happy loops along the fence line, full of energy and sunshine, while the horses barely lift an ear far too busy enjoying their grass and hay.
Just warm air, bright sky, and grass a perfect spring Sunday. 🌱🐴
