🇺🇸 After missing him at the beginning of the rut, we saw him again, but he was becoming increasingly difficult to find and less and less present in the upper heather-covered areas.
When we had already given him up for lost this season, imagining he would never leave the immense oak forests, we made one last climb into the hunting area.
Mid-morning, a distant roar encouraged us to take a look into the last valley, although without much faith. And there he was, more than 1 km from his usual area, calm and alone, without a hind in sight.
There was no hesitation. We found a solid rest and, when he finally crossed broadside, he fell right on his shadow… a huge surprise to close an incredible mountain rut.
A tough and demanding rut, but with exceptional quality, hunting in truly wild and authentic terrain.
Already looking forward to the 2027 rut in some of the best mountain areas, while we continue hunting a few more stags further inland.

🇪🇸 Tras haberle fallado al inicio de la berrea, le volvimos a ver, pero cada vez estaba más complicado y menos presente en los brezales de arriba.
Cuando ya le dábamos por perdido esta temporada, imaginando que no saldría de los inmensos robledales, hicimos una última subida a la zona de caza.
A media mañana, un bramido suelto nos animó a asomarnos al último valle, aunque sin mucha fe. Y ahí estaba, a más de 1 km de su zona habitual, tranquilo y sin ciervas.
No hubo dudas. Buscar un buen apoyo y, cuando finalmente se cruzó de costado, cayó sobre su sombra… ¡sorpresa mayúscula para cerrar una berrea de montaña increíble!
Una berrea dura y exigente, pero con una calidad altísima, cazando en terrenos salvajes y auténticos.
Ilusionados ya con la berrea de 2027 en las mejores zonas de montaña, seguimos cazando algunos venados más en el interior.
