Busy week in Mallorca supporting the pro teams including Heathfield Cycle Club
This is my page for cut price cycle bodgery. Bikes are ridiculously expensive. Most folks also need to pay for food, clothes, rent, mortgages and heating etc.
This group is here to try to find ways of getting people into cycling on quick, good quality bikes at a modest price point.

We've invested in new storage facilities to free up workshop space so we'll be able to offer faster turnarounds than our lethargic 2022 pace.... we're also appear to branching out into new services🤔.
We'd like to wish our followers and friends a merry Christmas and happy new year. CSR

If you're struggling at the roadside, please dont hesitate to call. We can head to the pub and discuss your issues over a cerveza and patatas bravas...

I hate it when a project goes on too long. This one is about 80cm too long.

There's been a lot of talk about Frankenbikes recently. Basically building bikes out of parts which the manufacturers didn't intend you to put together. Usually this means gears, but could equally apply to brakes and wheels.... so here over at the hot climate gravel test facility we thought it was time to dabble into this shady world of bike building. We've started rather discreetly with this Sramano gearset. It's a Shimano M7000 40T cassette paired up with a Sram medium cage derailleur. They have absolutely no business being near eachother. So does it work???? The answer is a emphatic YES. The shifting is super precise and hasn't missed a beat all afternoon.
But is that the whole story?? I'm not sure, but when you start playing with the natural order of things strange things start to happen.... on the test ride I didn't see a single log pile ( which appears to be the sole purpose of riding a gravel bike) and instead I keeping finding various types of hog?? And as I rode through town I saw folks with mullet hair cuts stepping off the pavement into my path... all too bizarre... we'll report progress soon ...as long I don't succumb to a horrific injury in a freak tubeless tyre fitting accident....

Forcefully unseizing a Sram jockey wheel🙄. Boulke Molima would have a few works to say...

I've also done a cut price gravel wheel for Pogo. Using the usual Novatec hubs but with Kinlin TL23 rims, Sapim D light spokes and brass ni***es for extreme gnarr. Came in well under £200.

Just realised I've not been posting much. Anyway, a nice guy called Guy asked if I could build him some reasonably sexy wheels for road use on his Cervelo gravel bike. What else could I say except what colour ni***es. Well, they're orange and they're gorgeous!! Novatec straight pull hubs, Sapim CX Sprint spokes for aero/ light/ strength and Kinlin 31mm asymmetric rims. Bottom line 1590g which is lighter than a set of Roval C38 ( much much lighter on the wallet too)
