As the year comes to a gentle close, yesterday we returned as we so often do to one of the places we love most: the Sierra Helada trail from Albir to Benidorm ⛰️
A path of sun, wind, stone, and sea… sometimes harsh in summer, sometimes icy and wild in winter. But this time, after days of rain, the sky opened as a blessing: golden sunlight, calm air, and endless views.
There is a quiet place along the ridge where the wind still holds a promise only some of us would recognize, and where Little Love feels as endless as the horizon below… 🧡.
2025 has been a journey of its own. A year of slipping and rising, learning and smiling, and gathering so many moments of joy along the way.
To our dear families, friends, and business partners around the world: we wish you a warm and loving New Year’s Eve. May the year ahead bring you laughter, connection, and beautiful memories. Let’s continue to walk together, to lift each other up, and to spread kindness and love wherever we go.
With heartfelt hugs,

Last Friday we went for a private hike with Julia and Tim from London and Maurizio from Italy!
Some months ago Julia and Tim joined us for the Ruta del Agua and the roman aqueduct the Pena Cortada.
As Julia and Tim own a nice apartment in Valencia they love to travel between Londen and Valencia. A few weeks ago they contacted us to take them out again!
Yessss! We love to… especially when it’s about guys like these…. we are looking so forward to a nice day out. 🍀
Maurizio from Italy joined us on a hike at Garbi some weeks ago. As he would like to see more of Valencia he loves the opportunity to join us. A few days before, the weatherforecast looked terrible… several people contacted us about the weather. 🌧
The 3 who would definitely join stayed calm… (and did some prayers 😇).
We must have done something good! The weather was beautiful, even warm… and we had a wonderful day. ☀️
About 3 km before the end of the trail some of us decided to walk the easy route down. Others wanted to go up the mountain again and take the longer route.
One of the reasons Valencian Hiking Friends always walks with 2 guides… are situations like this. Stefan took Julia and Tim down the mountain where they immediately went for a refreshing swim in the water. 💦
June took Maurizio up the mountain where they enjoyed the amazing views, watched voltures and had loads of conversations. ⛰
Of course you have heard about Montanejos and we explained the history of this village often. So… just enjoy the pictures…
Julia and Tim… lovely people, we will see each other soon again. Maurizio, take care, we will keep in touch and of course: a presto!
It was again an awesome day!

Ever crossed a Roman Aquaduct and crawled through tunnels?! We often do…!
Anne-Mieke from the Netherlands contacted us for a hike. Together with her son she visited Valencia and decided to take the most out or their holidays. 👏🏾
We organized a private hike for them. Together with our colleague Dmitry they went towards the famous Pena Cortada, only 50 minutes away from Valencia. After a coffee we started our walk along the Ruta del Agua, an easy walkable path through green nature along plenty of natural waters. 🍀
After a lunch in the pittoresque village of Chelva we followed our route on a medium level path. This impressive second part of the tour, allowed us to admire the monumental construction of the Peña Cortada Aquaduct, a building in Roman Hispania (1st century AD l).
We crossed the tunnels excavated in Roman times based on a peak in the rocks to allow the supply of water, from Chelva to the current Llíria.
The Peña Cortada itself is a deep cut excavated in the rock, 22 meters high by 26 long.
A beautiful sunny day, a 14 km hike, fresh air and good company! 💚
Anne-Mieke and her son drove to Malaga the next day. We stayed in contact with them and we told them that if they would need help, tips for restaurants and bars… they could always send us a message.
Anne-Mieke, thank you for joining us.
We hope to see you back soon, take care!

Last thursday Valencian Hiking Friends took some guests on a very fun adventure! 🧗🏾♀️
Lyndsey and her friends from the Netherlands contacted us for a hike. At the same time we were contacted by Maurizio from Italy. We offered them a tailormade hike in the Natural park of the Sierra Calderona only 30 km away from Valencia. ⛰
This region is considered to be the ‘green lung’ of the city. This hike requires some scrambling with the help of chains, which are well worth it, as the views from the top are stunning. Just climb, breath and switch on to your mountaingoat modus. And… don’t forget to smile! 😁
The most fun part of the day was the fact that the trail (which is normally very dry) was covered in water and small waterfalls! It made the stones slippery but gave an extra fun touch to the trail! After some days of rain the weather was extremely nice and warm. We swet like little piggies and enjoyed each others company, the sun and the trail.
More water to come… why not…
During the short 45 minutes drive from Garbi to Navajas it was suspicious silent in the car… Wake up guys, up to part 2! We found the ‘Salto de la Novia’, a spectacular 60 metres high waterfall. 💦
The Salto de Novia (in Spanish 'girlfriend jump') is one of the most beautiful areas in the Valencian community. It says that in the old days a bride had to jump from one bank to the other. If successful, the couple would be happy and fertile. Otherwise, the omens were of unhappiness and misfortune.
On one occasion, the waters of the Palancia River were so turbulent that a whirlpool was even created. As proof of her true love, the bride jumped. Ooooh… how sweet is real love! 😍
Oh… now we have to mention that she did not reach the other shore. 🤭
The bride fell into the water and was swallowed (okay, let go of the love… who needs love right). But this isn't where her bad luck ended. Her boyfriend jumped to rescue her. The tragedy unfolded when both were taken by the water and were never seen again. They were never found and it's said that some nights you can still hear them complaining about ther bad fortune… 👻.
Around 6 pm we arrived in Valencia Center. What a good day out in nature. 🍀
Summer is back… would you like us to take you out of the city? Just send us a whatsapp, we are looking forward to meet you. Remember: jobs fill your pockets but adventures fill your soul.
We are ready for a great hiking summer! 👊🏾
Thank you:
