It has now been a week since this year’s Trollingträff Åland kicked off – and what a successful "träff" it turned out to be! 🤩
Just take a look at these numbers:

🎣Of the 26 participating teams, 21 landed at least one fish, which is a full 80% of the teams.

🎣A total of 41 salmon were caught (and likely even more were lost during the fight, which shows that there was plenty of salmon in the sea this year), giving an average of 1,5 salmon / team

🎣The total weight of salmon weighed in was 372,95 kg, with an average fish weight of 9,33 kg

🎣The largest fish of the event weighed 16,7 kg

These are truly outstanding numbers, and once again we would like to thank everyone involved for making it possible! Next year, we’ll do at least as well — won’t we? 🤩

A special congratulations also goes to this year’s winner, Raymarine Fishing Team Esa Lehto, who claimed the title in the main category, Best Team. They weighed in five salmon (out of a possible six) for a total weight of 43.35 kg, earning an impressive 514 points and securing the overall victory!

The preliminary dates for Trollingträff Åland 2027 have been set for 2–5.6. 2027, with final confirmation expected shortly. The website will also receive its first update in the near future.

We have no idea yet what next year's fishing regulations and other conditions will look like, but mark 2-5.6. 2027, in your calendars, because our goal is to organize Trollingträff Åland 2027 then!

"Det kommer mera..."

So far, 13 salmon have been caught today, bringing the total catch in the competition to 35 salmon! This means we can finally award the 31st–33rd anniversary prizes, which have remained unclaimed in recent years because of the low number of salmon caught.

The teams still have two hours left before they have to be back in Käringsund. A few more salmon could certainly be on the way... can we reach the 40-salmon mark? 🎣🐟
