The last 3 nations to qualify will be known in early September after the two European Qualifications in Estonia & Spain! ⚔️

🇦🇺 vs 🇭🇰
Australia started differently than in their previous matches, scoring two goals in the first period. In the second period, Hong Kong, China’s Tsz Yin Shek found the back of the net, but the Aussie team did not back down. Player of the match Lachlan Paton scored twice, while Bailey Vincent extended Australia’s lead to 5-1. Vincent added another goal in the third period, and Tsz Yin Shek scored his second for Hong Kong, China. Australia celebrated not only the win but also their qualification for the U19 WFC 2027 final round in Riga.

🇲🇾 vs 🇳🇿
Malaysia entered this game looking for their first points of the event, while New Zealand knew they needed wins in their final two matches to keep their qualifying dreams alive. Malaysia had a strong start when Ahmad Asyraf Ahmad Hafizi opened the scoring. However, New Zealand’s Jamie Gwyn—a previous Player of the Match—netted the equaliser on a power play. The second and third periods were dominated by New Zealand’s Eli Scott and Oliver Bargh; Scott finished with three goals and one assist, while Bargh led the game in scoring with two goals and three assists. The final score was a decisive 9-2 victory for the Kiwis.

🇸🇬 vs 🇯🇵
Both teams entered this game undefeated, making it one of the most anticipated matches of the event. The hosts, Singapore, had the better start: Kayden Koh scored the opening goal, and Friday’s standout player, Danesh Issac, increased the lead in the 15th minute. Singapore continued their efficient scoring in the second period, with both Koh and Issac netting their second goals of the match. Japan eventually found their rhythm when captain Soui Matsuyama scored on a power play. Trailing by three goals at the start of the third period, Japan’s Jin Akutsu converted a penalty shot to make it 4-2. About two minutes later, Julian Teoh scored for Singapore, and after a Japanese player was sent to the sin bin, Hazique Nidal added another. Yuto Iijima scored a late goal for Japan, but the deficit was too large to overcome. The final score was 6-3 for Singapore, and both teams successfully secured their qualification for the final round in Riga next February.

🇯🇵 vs 🇲🇾
Coming off a strong start to the tournament, Japan faced Malaysia with high momentum. Captain Soui Matsuyama opened the scoring just two minutes into the match, followed quickly by a goal from Hiromu Motoki. Defender Taketo Konno then extended Japan’s lead to 3-0 with a brilliant solo effort, capping off the play with a celebratory dance. Japan added one more goal during a powerplay in the second period, but Malaysia finally found their rhythm in the final minute of the frame when Rohan Samuel Kasinathan put them on the board. Despite both teams earning powerplay opportunities in the third period, neither could convert, and the match concluded with a 4-1 victory for Japan.

🇳🇿 vs 🇭🇰
After both teams suffered losses on Day 1, New Zealand and Hong Kong, China were eager to secure their first win. Hong Kong, China took an early lead through goals from Ming Lang Guo and Yuk Yin Chan, but New Zealand responded quickly with strikes from Jamie Gwyn and Eli Scott to level the score. Jack Mahoney then capitalized on a powerplay to put the Kiwis ahead, a lead they would not relinquish. Jamie Gwyn proved to be the standout performer, contributing a goal and four assists, while several other teammates also found the scoresheet. Although Hong Kong, China managed one more goal late in the game, New Zealand cruised to a confident 11-3 victory—their first win in the Men’s U19 WFCQ since 2017.

🇸🇬 vs 🇦🇺
Playing in front of a supportive home crowd, Singapore got off to a flying start against Australia. Ammar Lutfi netted two goals and Julian Teoh added another to give the hosts a commanding lead after the first period. Adam Akief Muhammad extended that lead in the second, but Australia—much like their performance on Day 1—began to find their footing as the game progressed. Matteo Carniello scored in the 25th minute, followed by an Alexander Bilkey powerplay goal. Australia’s momentum carried into the third period as Oliver Pigott and Eliah Sterpini levelled the score at 4-4. However, Singapore regained control, with Man of the Match Ammar Lutfi scoring his third of the game and Kyle Ng adding another to seal a 6-4 victory, marking Singapore’s second win of the tournament.
