Kelpie Stud Kelmi

Aaand little Bonny did so well also on her first second class run, and placed 2./8. She gave her all!

Sheep competitions in Somero today. Kelmi Bonny Lass 15 months has done three starts, two wins and one second place. Today she got win 97/100p and we started our second run in class 2. It was not bad at all, outrun, lift and fetch was excellent, but in drive I helped her a bit and my timing was poor on second gates, I flanked her right millisecond too early and sheep turned on gateline but walked under 🤷. My bad. Open penning was difficult, we did it with perhaps one point left and then did shedding. It was not pretty, but it happened and I have trained shedding with her just twice so I'm happy we did the course through with sheep in good mental state.
Vellamo competes too today. She got problems in lift last time here about a month ago, and lift was in same place again. She has at home my prettiest outruns, but here something intimidates her and she feels strong side draw scary. She was going to stop to draw or cut to other side, but I got her to correct and do a decent outrun, but in lift she lost feeling and came with big banana to me with sheep.
We have one more round, I hope I can get her to relax and trust my commands better, so we do not end fighting like it felt on first round.

Dogyeller Lempo -Swissstock Enzo puppies are 10 days today. The are opening their eyes and moving more around puppy box. Soon they are morning from neonatal baby's to playing explorers!

Kelmi C2 litter's dam Kelmi Saarahkka won Finlands herdingdog associations competition in Oulainen today, congratulations to Anu Airasmaa!

Congratulations to Outi & Viita and Sini & Kätyri. Both dogs are good herding dogs, Kätyri works on dairy farm and Viita is training towards competitions. They are also great sport dogs. Viita got her first results on rally obedience and Kätyri passed FCI behavior test and is now qualified to participate in service dog trials.

We are training how to search and catch escaped livestock. Kelmi Bonny Lass makes sheep tracks with me to forest, and customers are practicing their tracking skills. So fun!
