I really loved the movie "Hidden Figures", highlighting Johnson’s accomplishments at Langley, with her colleagues. They greatly contributed, as many other women, to mathematics ! They also contributed to harmonize how employees where treated at the time, depending on their origin, color of skin or other differences. "The toilets" scene is one to be remembered and the way it was resolved at NASA at that time was great. It's a kind of breaking an unjustified wall. There are still many such walls in our society that needs to be softly and quickly removed.
The accomplishments of these "Hidden Figures" are worth celebrating all over the world and be part of history taught in schools! It should be part of education to make progress, not only on equal opportunity employment but also on excellent treatment that employees deserve, wherever they come from, or if they have any difference such as dyslexia, autism (including Asperger) too highly intelligent ...
Let's honor Katherine Johnson and her colleagues :) as well as those who had the wisdom and courage of allowing them to raise at times very difficult for women at work. Fully trusting them was a very good decision their manager took, and it greatly helped the NASA's space activities to be successful.
We have recently created a poursepanouir group on LinkedIn for sharing information about achievement of human potentials. We also share information on coaching, mentoringn, tutoring and various ways of accompanying a person for allowing her to define and act for achieving her professional goals. It is recommended to find a qualified, competent professional in such field. There are many questions to ask before selecting such professional and intuitu personae relationship is certainly one of the most important.
