It’s funny how when you truly switch off or are occupied doing something else (like walking) your brain gets active 😅
Out walking in the French countryside past many rows of vines & it got me thinking about conditioning. Yeah I know a bit random, but there is a tenuous link 😆
These vines are trained to grow in a certain way, they are trimmed, watered, fed & sprayed, all for the purpose of getting the best yield out of them.
This represents our conditioning.
But not all vines will thrive, there may be the odd few that fail. Maybe they’re exposed to the sunlight differently or don’t have as good drainage because of field position. Maybe they get missed by the bees during pollination or get attacked by insects🤷🏼♀️
My point is that some of the conditioning you received as a child through family, society & culture helped you to grow. Some of your life experiences deeply impacted you & maybe changed how you developed or who you are today.
As an adult you have a choice of how you let this affect you.
Do you allow your conditioning & life experiences dictate how you respond & interact with life?
Or do you get curious & explore that conditioning? Identifying where those thoughts, beliefs or patterns of behaviour come from so that you can make more conscious choices.
A lot of the work I do with my neurodivergent clients is raising self awareness & self acceptance, before choosing to disrupt & break free of that which no longer serves. Because nothing changes if nothing changes and ignorance is not always bliss!
What conditioning do you choose to let go of?
