Some highlights from Small size Days 2026! 🎈
Today we celebrate the ASSITEJ World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People. This is a call to action:
to make theatre visible, accessible and present in the lives of children everywhere.
Bring children to the theatre.
Bring theatre to children.
Because their right to arts and culture should be staged, today and every day. 🎭
“We know that theatre offers a place for imagination and without imagination there cannot be hope.” — Sue Giles, President of ASSITEJ International 🎭
Theatre creates spaces where children and young people can imagine, question and experience the world in new ways.
On March 20, the ASSITEJ World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People reminds us that access to arts and culture is a right.

On March 20 we celebrate the ASSITEJ World Day of Theatre for Children and Young People, a global moment to highlight something essential: children and young people have the right to access arts and culture. 🎭
Across the world, artists, educators, companies and organisations come together to stage the rights of children, creating theatre and performances that nurture imagination, participation and expression.
Through these shared experiences, theatre becomes a space where young audiences can discover ideas, feel emotions and see their voices valued.
Today and every day, we stand for the cultural rights of children and young people.

Small size Days 2026 reached 13,814 spectators across 19 different countries. 👀🎈
Adults and children came together to experience a rich and diverse programme of performances, storytelling sessions, workshops and artistic encounters dedicated to early years audiences. 🌎✨
These numbers represent much more than attendance, they reflect shared spaces, first artistic experiences, international collaboration and the power of art to connect communities across borders.
We warmly thank all the artists, partners and organisers who made this edition possible, and every family who chose to be part of this collective celebration. 🩵
In this video, we meet Barbara Kölling, artistic director of Helios Theater (Germany) and the new President of the Small size network.
Barbara invites everyone to join a Teatime next week to talk about the future of the network and upcoming activities.
