> A 12-year-old promising swimmer from El-Zohour Club, Youssef drowned during the Under-12 National Swimming Championship — after finishing his 50 m race he fainted and sank to the bottom of the pool.

> Horrifyingly, he remained underwater for **more than 10 minutes** before anyone realized he was missing.

> This tragedy was not an accident — it was the result of **blatant negligence and a failure of supervision**. There was no proper monitoring or timely rescue by lifeguards, medical staff or organizers.

> Such negligence is unacceptable. We must demand justice and accountability — to honour Youssef’s memory and to protect all young athletes from suffering the same fate.
